Did it work before?

It is not that I care about ordinals but this shows really how Bitcoin ecosystem works from the first hand. It’s good to see incentives works for different people.

I’m doing my best running my own node. Go into Crypto first time Jan 2021 go into full bitcoin november 2022. Till now have multi sig setup with seed signer, sparrow. Have the node running but I can’t say I understand how will I run a self custody Lightining Node opening a channel with BTC doesn’t click how much is needed where should I open a channel to, it’s just too much for me. Still try to understand but it is not easy. I study hard to come this far and it is understandable that people reach a soft-limit during this journey it takes time. Try to take it easy, do not took any step that you’re not comfortable test and test again. And it’s not easy when the fees are high. There is no destination in this journey so it is best to approach to enjoy the ride itself. And thank you #[1]​ because your messages is always so loud and clear. No bullshit. 🫡

I use seedsigner + some other stuff for my multi-sig. I'm convinced it is as secure as I can make it right now.

Is there update on Ledger side about this or it is the usual as it is? I'm trying to convince that just trusting Ledger Harware + Ledger Live + Ledger Node is not a good practice and trying to explain them at least use Sparrow Wallet and use A group of Words from Sparrow side tandem with Ledger as multi-sig just in case. I believe I'm failed to make them move at the direction I suggested. If there are any important progress about this I would like to know. Thanks and great meme I'll definetly send this to my group.

It’s difficult to summarize but:

- Same guy rules the country since 2002

- He pushed country more and more to a centralized government (The system changed more than once during his rule)

- He pushed people more and more to a divided polarized situation.

- Religious, conservative, nationalist people (which is happy to see a strong leader opress “all his enemies”) against people who stood for freedom of speech, want to see a more democratic governed instead of a “king-like” figure doesn’t care much about law (and openly states that), and secular (feeling disturbed because some decisions made by this government according to the islamic rules) etc…

- Even if the country is getting more and more rot from inside and out due to corruption (it is confessed by many people this guy who rules the country personally gained billions of dollars from government investments).

- One political party went for a election campaign with the full support of government sources, and with centralized media. Two days before election Current president talk with 17 reporters from 17 TV channels and answered their pre-prepared questions.

- It comes to a point if you have luxurious Car with Sign Plate that has the letters of the Political Ruler party in it no police would risk his job by stopping you. Because if you know the right people you would just make him lose his/her job…

- This might be the last actual semi-democratic election we will ever had because things will get much worse from this point on, more corruption more centralization…

Don’t make me start I’m working as a volunteer during the election started the day at 5:30 and it is 19:30 now sitting on the small desks of a primary school. And this… pure frustration

:( I wish there were more people using NOSTR in my country. I hope the election will help us to go for a more free-speech path than this current government.

I don’t know what’s the deal with this one but he seems like at another level when it comes to see himself bigger than what he actually is. What kind of hubris is this? 🤔

It’s so sad to see my country involved with this kind of talk. But I wish Elon at least stood his ground so Turkish people would at least know there is some fishy stuff going on…

And for the gentelmen who said “don’t Turks know about VPN” of course we knew. We ikipedia and Youtube was banned in this country gor a really long time. But this way most people wouldn’t even know that there is somethig wrong. And of course there is not-tech savy people or older people… anyway… It’s just difficult to express mu frustration since we are so close to leave a un-democratic, totalitarian government with election and choose a higher level of democracy. I wish all the best for my country and all other countries that suffered from populism and oppressive regimes.

Thanks man. It’s not that I understood it and talking against it. I’m from Turkey so even with the language barrier some people can’t do self-custody so I can see there is a value for sure. I’m just having a difficult time understanding it, how it will work in practice etc. I hold some BTC for my mother for example in a separate account. But I wouldn’t do that for other people because in this case it is my self-custody and I just keep another account for her, hoping one day tools will be easy enough even for her to use. So I can see there will be use cases. But the way people talk about it signals that would be something even more grandiose and game changing. So we’ll how it will go :)

Haha maybe never thought about that to be honest. But I can relate because I’m Turkish and I feel like there are not many countries that we don’t annoy :).

I listened this one and this was the first time I hear about some system other than just lightining. #[7]​ seems like another brilliant guy in the Bitcoin ecosystem. I feel almost proud because I’m somewhat a part of this community. I hope maybe one day my role will switch to a more active role than now.

I sometimes I feel like people don’t like Peter that much but I love his show. He is a hard working man if nothing else and it’s not easy if you don’t believe in something. I can imagine there might be much easier ways to earn more money for him. But he chooses to do this and it has a value in my eye.
