Bitcoin is the hurdle rate

Bitcoin is the hurdle rate
Grim but true.
We elect greedy leaders to govern us with a system that is grim.
The joke is on us. But for the first time we have a fair system, an exit from the grasp of the opressors.
Fuck the system, choose the exit.

I’m building an advertising model for Nostr.
Nostr client feature request:
Top zapper of the note gets to choose top/pinned comment for that specific note.
This will allow content creators to monetise each note in a new way. And top zappers could do it to support creator or to promote their product or service.
Feature Idea I stole from Jora/farcaster

💡Threadlocks: One-Time Commitments with Bitcoin and Nostr
What if you could make a promise, cryptographically bind it to Bitcoin, and close it forever with one action — all while broadcasting its intent through Nostr?
🧪 Use Cases
Threadlocks enable:
✅ One-time claims ("I minted this", "I voted")
🔐 Access control (only those with unspent Threadlocks can act)
🗳️ DAO governance (commit → vote → finalize)
🎮 Game state progression (quests, puzzles, unlocks)
🧾 Credential issuance (proof of training, rights, NFTs)

Interesting use cases
I like balaji’s network states concept.Threadlocks will allow to build community governance without EVM dependance.

Reading through notes and replies is simpler now. Text indentation in iOS is good UX for me.
Overall the app feels smooth compared to last year.
Great to see Mostro on here again.
P2P for the win.

I’m starting to like #damus more now.
It's physically and mentally exhausting to cultivate your anger and anxiety, and you become a mental burden on all the people around you.
Learn to let go, don’t live in your mind, don’t unnecessarily rewind the past, there are so many more valuable ways to spend your energy.

$MSTRbator
Part of Speech: noun (slang, finance, crypto culture)
Pronunciation: /ˈɛmˌɛsˌtiːˌɑːrˈbeɪtər/
Definition:
MSTRbator (noun)
A slang, tongue-in-cheek term used to describe a hyper-enthusiastic retail investor or Bitcoin maximalist who obsessively buys, tracks, or evangelizes MicroStrategy (ticker: MSTR) stock due to its heavy Bitcoin holdings, often conflating it with direct Bitcoin ownership. The term plays on both “MSTR” (the stock ticker) and a crude pun on self-gratification, implying a level of irrational or emotional overattachment.
Usage Context:
• Commonly used in crypto Twitter, Reddit, and Bitcoin meme circles.
• Often used pejoratively or self-deprecatingly to mock overzealous MicroStrategy investors who treat MSTR like a leveraged Bitcoin ETF or a substitute for owning spot BTC.
• Reflects a cult-like admiration for Michael Saylor, MSTR’s Executive Chairman and prominent Bitcoin advocate.
Example Sentences:
• “He’s such a MSTRbator—every time MSTR dips, he maxes out another credit card.”
• “Forget ETFs, the real gigachad move is being a full-time MSTRbator.”
• “MSTRbators think Michael Saylor is the Bitcoin messiah.”
