Maybe a residual trail of lightning that encircles the note before fading if it’s a particularly big zap :) software should be fun again

Or lightning that emanates from the zap icon and is a tiny little fizzle when it’s a small amount that grows in scale with the zap size, maybe actually crashing the app if a user dares zap over 21M sats

I want a lightning bolt animation after the 5 second undo timer is gone if the note is still on the screen.. a nice skeuomorphic bolt of lightning (several possible animations that rotate) that electrifies and zaps the zap icon full in a brilliant lightning strike ☺️ ⚡️⚡️

5 second delay for zap cancel opportunity -> fetch lightning invoice from users lightning address -> send invoice to NWC relay for payment -> nwc pay confirmation -> n second delay -> zap appears …

I realize none of this really needs to be shown to the user. When you click the zap button, it just becomes a placeholder that tracks all this progress and state internally, but otherwise shows immediate zap success. Most of the time it will succeed, in the instances it doesn’t the zap just goes away and you can retry if you want, but its not the end of the world. The biggest thing is the instant haptic feedback on zap that will tend to work 99% of the time anyways. I’m not even going to show a different color I don’t think, you can inspect the zaps in the zap list to see if its still pending, but its a detail users rarely need to care about

Additional taps cancel, but will explore other ways to modify the amount before it is sent 🤔

Getting it working so that its not *surprising* like accidentally sending zaps twice was tricky but worth spending the extra time. Very dangerous feature otherwise lol.

Every additional zap within x time should make the icon grow larger like a fast tap mini game until it fills the screen and user earns a badge

I’ve never seen ground level solar panels that looked good.. yet they’re always someplace called something like Green Farms Solar Plant or X University Solar Fields Bio-Life Sciences Center. Always hideous metal rows with sharp angles and dead grass underneath, rooftop is the only place they belong and makes the most sense anyway.

Also, cold keys with NIP 46 is probably better than nip 26. I have lots of questions on how to immediately deauthorize a key after the key and thus the token leaked with NIP26.

Lots of ideas for key rotation were proposed in the past, but no actual cryptographic reviews or implementations. Much less consensus. It's by far the weakest point of nostr and it really needs man/hours to get through.

Really something to work on before the unpredictable mass popularity arrives. #[6] #[7] are you guys working on / interested in bounties for this area? Or is best option to get nip26 working and just remake accounts with new airgapped parent key?

It just means that my account is less secure because I used all the early clients with this account :)

Delegated signing (nip26) is being worked on I hear, but is there a nip or work being done on full key rotation for situations like this where a key is compromised?

There’s something to be said about the crowd of ppl drooling for android nostr client competition, for simple reasons like this. It’s an easy win to just give them the choice and take away their reason to leave your app.

I’m not a dev tho.. I don’t have a GitHub account, I don’t see anyone talking about porn, just ppl asking for more user choice. Put your monero address somewhere and I’ll fund the feature, how much will it cost?
