Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass launched an initiative to provide more resources for unhoused veterans. This comes after a regulatory change in the state allowing veterans to apply for both disability benefits and housing assistance. Previous regulations required veterans to choose between the two. “For too long, too many in government have accepted people living on the street,” Bass said. “I do not accept the humanitarian crisis on our streets, especially when it comes to Angelenos who have served and sacrificed their bodies for our country.”

"Kinzinger had only a split second to decide whether to intervene and risk his own life — a decision that, he admits, didn’t come easily. “They say in a crisis half of the people run, 40% freeze and 10% act. I felt every one of those emotions,” he says. “If someone would have whispered ‘Run’ to me, I would have run.” Ultimately, his conscience wouldn’t let him walk away. “There were two immediate thoughts that went through my head. The first one was, ‘If I act, I’m gonna die.’ The second was, ‘If I watch this lady die, and I do nothing, I can’t live with myself for the rest of my life.’ ”. Kinzinger engaged in a tense struggle with the attacker that he describes as a "close grapple." “I had his knife hand and I remember consciously feeling the knife hand trying to stab me,” he says. “It’s not a matter of pride now, it’s a matter of life to win.” After successfully pinning the man to the ground and waiting for police to arrive, Kinzinger was able to walk away, but it took months for him to process what had occurred. “I [had] blood all over me. The shirt that had all the blood, I could not bring myself to wash it for some reason,” he says. “It stayed in a corner in my room and then it was about two or three months later I started realizing I had some PTSD from it… That moment on that street in Milwaukee utterly changed my life.”

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz shared his approach to dealing with tech mogul Elon Musk who lately has traded barbs with German politicians, saying it is wise to not “feed the troll.” “There are a lot of people on social media who want to attract attention with snappy slogans,” Scholz said in an interview with German magazine Stern published on Saturday. “I don’t believe in courting Mr. Musk’s favor,” he added. “I’m happy to leave that to others.” Scholz emphasized that “as Social Democrats, we have been used to the fact that there are rich media entrepreneurs who do not appreciate Social Democratic politics — and do not hide their opinions.”

That's the symbol you're looking for.

I would settle for the island.

OK you must try it, you won't regret it, type your nsec once and you can use your bunker to login or approve connections. You can login to Amethyst with your nsec.app address and on my case it fixed many issues I was having at the time.

I used to make snow angels. Shout out to all my mates in Hounslow, Heston, Cranford, Hayes, Uxbridge, Wembley, Camden and Harlsden.

It will all be fixed soon, I'm sure, the developers are working around the clock to fix these issues. Have you tried asking Vitor Pamplona for help?

GetAlby was discontinued on the 3rd of January 2025, I also use Coinos but keep my assets in cold storage. Do you use nsec.app? I'm asking this because it helped me resolve many issues with Amethyst.

The New Orleans Saints have pledged to donate $1 million to relief efforts for the victims of the terror attack in the French Quarter on New Year's Day.

That was on another post, on my side I can only see a 🧠 on your post, weird!

Did you guys really believe Iron Man wouldn't have control over his Tesla Cybertrucks? I bet he can do the same on a Starship or Starlink.

Make no mistake Musk is a genius and Trump is a great deal breaker who puts American interests at the forefront but unfortunately, this migration issue needs careful review and analysis by the American people; as it becames clear that middle income families and workers desperately need jobs.
