I have a ton of visa/MasterCard prepaid giftcards laying around wasting. Does anyone know of a good way to convert them to BTC?

My guess it was developed for iPhones/iOS, which means it requires Apple silicon to work. 🤙🏼

I’ve doubled my Damus usage this week. Saw another nOstr G say they were keeping twitter for friends (like I did with Facebook before deleteing) - the twitter algo really fucks me off so getting closer to deleting bird app 👀

I never felt comfortable enough there to really participate. I'd always thought it was because I wasn't into social media or something. I didn't know it was just the fact that I never found community like I have here and that I was always fighting against the invisible hand of the algorithm.

Said goodbye to the bird app this evening - feeling much lighter 🙂

First of all, I like “clean” dichotomies, which leads me to custodial & non-custodial, custodial & self-custodial doesn’t fulfill this as nicely.

The issue with custodial & non-custodial is that the favored option (non-custodial) is the negated form. Any negation carries a subtle negative connotation with it. Doesn’t matter for people who understood the concept, but for absolute beginners, such subtle nuances in language can make the difference on which option they’re leaning towards.

So, I would love to have a short, one-word, that describes the concept of self-custody, which we can then negate and we have the custodied option.

After some consideration, I think such term doesn’t actually exist. So, we either come up with a completely new word or .. we just stick with the current terms

I’ve looked at terms factoring in what it means to the users with phrases like self-controlled, 3rd party owned, etc. but they all sound shite and look more complicated written too.

The other way is you basically just ignore custodial wallet language completely and then focus on making self-custody language more obvious.

Because comparing to a bank, we know the bank has our money, applying that logic >>> why are we explaining this to people unless we have to. It’s a fun area to explore there for sure!
