This is going to be a take that's going to surprise a lot of people about me since I'm a big Monero proponent:

Dumping on people for not using a specific crypto, such as Bitcoin or XMR, is no better than people who use fiat dumping on cypto users for not using fiat currency.

The problem I am noticing from both BTC and XMR maxis is that they only look at crypto from a lens of it being used as payments, when in reality, crypto has advanced to serve so many different purposes.

Take Ethereum, for example. ETH has a great amount of potential in the business world. Just look at things that ETH has led to like smart contracts and DAOs. If you want to be cypherpunk, you can't just focus on how you're gonna pay for the services. You gotta have the infrastructure for the very services you want to use as well. It's especially important if you want to remain free from government oppression while being able to operate in the private. ETH however is flawed because addresses and smart contracts are easily traceable from the blockchain and Chainanalysis. The closest private alternatives to ETH are the SCRT Network and Zano, both of which are essentially works-in-progress for the time being.

I hate to endorse them, but stablecoins can also potentially be useful when it comes to holding gold or silver. Right now, stablecoins are mostly used for fiat. The few stablecoins that are pegged to gold and silver require KYC and therefore are not private. I am looking at you, PAXG.

This post does not mean I endorse using ETH or any stablecoin as payment to replace XMR with. I would never use either of them because as I said before, they are not private and are traceable.

TL;DR Crypto serves more purposes than just being "digital cash." Use it for other purposes as well to truly benefit from it, instead of desiring a monopoly on your coin.

Spot on. You use the right tool for the job. Simple as that.

I, for one, am happy when I see stores and restaurants enforce a debit/credit card surcharge. This helps push to the use case for cash, and better yet, allows for an opportunity to introduce crypto as an option.

Thoughts?

Happy #pi day nostr. Stay irrational 🤙

Exactly. No need to be a Maxi of anything. Use the tools available, as needed. Hodl in Bitcoin and spend in Monero, or whatever floats your boat... But just USE it.

Anyone else at the stage where days go so fast you literally don't have time for anything else? Having to find time to multitask different things at once to gain a few moments for another task.

Why does it matter what cryptocurrency people use? We need more #agora and #free markets. We are all on the same team here in the end, regardless of what your favorite coin is. This is especially true when we have services like trocador.app to swap to your favorite coin.

Use it (keyword "use"), and we win!

What a great bounce back. Bought the dip, as one should, and sitting pretty now. #btc #bitcoin #crypto

Same. Just recently revived an older device with LineageOS, but it appears Gapps are baked in. If i disable them, it fails to boot afterwards too.

Time to get my hands dirty and compile LineageOS for my self!

I'm looking to get into hardware hacking and I'm trying to figure out what tools are essential for the job. I've heard that a UART to USB adapter is a must-have, but what about other tools like flashers, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers? What are some of the best brands and models out there? Are there any all-in-one tools that can handle multiple tasks? I'd love to hear from experienced hardware hackers about their favorite tools and why they prefer them. #hardwarehacking #uart #flasher #jtag #logicanalyzers #reverseengineering #embeddedsystems #securityresearch #hack #hacking
