"Freedom of speech is being able to tell someone else something they don't want to hear." "No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended." "Once you realize that politicians are not altruistic, and that they're in politics for themselves and their own personal gain, then everything makes sense." "No one is above the law." "Have you ever met a poor politician?"

Spilled the cream filling me coffee this AM.

Oh well, no sense in crying... πŸ˜ƒ

GM Nostr!

Mondays...one day closer to Friday!

Apple tree losing its petals...bees only have another day or two to get their work done...

#coffeechain

GM Nostr!

Thought I'd share a pic of my hard working bees...

Clearly they had THEIR coffee yesterday (and probably today as well)...

GM Bees!

(Yes, they finally got a shot at the apple tree yesterday - sunny, with just a light breeze - so many of them it sounded like a one liter at full tilt...) πŸ˜ƒ

They should be at it agin today!

Almost the weekend...Fridays "count" don't they?

Thursday - the only day of the week with an "h" in it...

I'll drink (coffee) to that!

Oh absolutely...again my crime example--if you have strict laws (i.e. higher cost) you have less crime.

That's an environmental variable you don't control, but it definitely can affect any decisions.

Agree completely - with the caveat that the perceived incentives (and costs) are dependent upon each individual.

In the crime example, some will not become criminals no matter the perceived benefits...one would say the personal emotional cost to their psyche by stealing (for example) would not outweigh the benefits.

Same with any decision...each individual remains the arbiter of their own cost-benefit analysis.

Every decision in life is conducted via a cost - benefit analysis (whether we realize it or not).

One weighs the options, and then acts accordingly.

Living somewhere with significant crime? Well, clearly the benefits to the criminal outweigh the perceived costs. (i.e. if laws are "soft" on crime, the perceived cost is lower, and you have more crime).

Just one example, but it how we all make decisions...

Good day for coffee--will be cold and windy.

(Need a nice day...apple blossoms are out, but was too windy for the bees yesterday...maybe the same today. Hope the little fellers can make it to the tree...)

Doing the right thing is never hard...

It's the consequences of those decisions, brokered by the opinions and actions of others, that are hard to deal with...

It does sound good--but only the bees will enjoy it.

(It's just an apple tree in the backyard--the bees are just fun to watch, but we don't have the hive or the honey)

GM Nostr

Looks like it's going to be a nice day here!

(Bees will need a nice day to hit the apple tree--lots of blossoms--and it's been cold and raining the past few days)

Going to need some extra coffee today...have an oil leak in the car I have to chase down...

The only person who you can count on to be loyal to you is yourself (and sometimes even then, you'll still let yourself down).

That's not to say you shouldn't trust others--just keep in mind that everyone is fallible, and likely to at some point disappoint you.

Part of life's lessons I suppose....

Sundays truly are the best day of the week.
