Groups organized around topics I can understand, or small more intimate groups. But I’m talking about the people starting general purpose groups on Simplex and blasting the invitation codes out to all of nostr. They’re just recreating their follow list on another app where they are in complete control of who is in the group. It’s pointless.

Nostr is already a public group chat with all the people you follow and who follow you. Why do people keep recreating large group chats on other apps with the exact same people they already interact with on nostr?
