Well I’m pretty sure there is a full media blackout of western Maui right now dictated by FEMA. Probably so people just move on and don’t realize how horribly the local and federal government “responded” to this.
Here is an article that talks about some of it. They don’t mention the municipality shutting off water to residents who were using hoses to try to save their houses and firefighters that couldn’t access hydrants anymore.

I’ve been at a hotel the last couple days. CNN has been playing in the business center. They’ve been reporting on a plane crash in Russia, events in Ukraine and trump.
Not one mention of Maui which is likely the worst natural disaster in US history.
There are still 1,000 people missing.
