Facebook is launching a paid verification service now similar to Twitter. I recommended Nostr to a bunch of people and let them know they can get verified for free here.

I enabled both of those and I must admit, I regretted it instantly.
I'm on a handful of paid relays as well. That's actually all I use for my global feed. I'm looking to add some public relays for global as well to make new connections but most seem to get flooded with spam, so I'm hoping maybe that problem is fixed on at least a few.
What public relays are people using that don't seem to have a spam problem? I don't want to polute my global feed.
I just run my own single user instance. I've been blocked by around 20 instances tho, simply for stating that I don't believe children should be allowed hormone therapy and that I don't consider trans women to be actual women.
If you're a grown adult, do with your body as you wish. Don't mutilate children or interfere with their natural development and don't tell me what I should consider a woman to be.
Instance blocking should be removed, imo. With the exception being instances who post illegal content like child pornography and other sickening things like that. Blocking should be left up to each individual user.

The Fediverse certainly has it's points and benefits. A huge benefit I say would be communities based on certain interests but still being able to communicate with the wider network. A big flaw is not being able to completely move you're account and data easily. There's no guarantee that the admin of your instance won't shut things down.
The AT Protocol seems very similar to ActivityPub. Bluesky & AT Protocol seem to be very similar to the Fediverse concept. Why not just invest in ActivityPub and help improve this existing protocol and create you're own front/back(ends)? Monetization? Is the AT Protocol open source?
Does anybody know of a tutorial to set up your own paid relay? I've got an unused domain and machine I want to use for this. However the only paid relay tutorial I can find uses ZEBEDEE and they want ID Verification. That I am unwilling to do. I'm going to do a bit more digging later tonight. Maybe I can just set a relay up, limit it to whitelisted npubs only and manually add after a Lightning invouce has been paid?

New npub. Mined a vanity that begins with "jawsh" and switched over. Had to repay for relays. bitcoiner,social is listed at 1000sats but was actually 2000sats when I last paid. Now it's 4200sats but still listed as 1000sats via relay.exchange
Somebody should update that.
