That's the best place to start with Lewis. John Stott's Basic Christianity also might be helpful for understanding why the gospel (the central message of the bible) is so impactful.

lol, I wanted to read nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn 's article and I couldn't easily copy the naddr from Habla so I added nice short URLs to nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x 😂

I really like these nice URLs (although they suffer from not having relay's like nevents, but I guess we'll cross that bridge later 😅)

They could have relays if you dereference the nip05 (and if I add a relay to my profile). They will suffer from link rot pretty badly though as people rotate their nip05's.

Listening to nostr:npub1kuy0wwf0tzzqvgfv8zpw0vaupkds3430jhapwrgfjyn7ecnhpe0qj9kdj8 with nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn

nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn very interested in your opinion on NIP-90 Data Vending Machines.

You mention how you see clients using feed algorithms as a centralizing force where the algorithm becomes a feature of the client and you argue for pushing algorithms to the relay.

I agree that’s a preferable model, but know you’re coupling data availability (even if it can be ported with some work) with algorithms.

Do you see the data vending machine idea where there is no coupling between feed algorithms and relays or clients as a good idea or do you still consider relays executing algorithms as superior?

Very curious on your take on NIP-90 btw!

This is such an interesting question I wrote a blog post in response: https://habla.news/u/hodlbod@coracle.social/dvms-and-custom-feeds

We have tons of options for building custom feeds, and they all seem to have unique benefits. I think DVMs are super cool, and expand nostr into new areas which is awesome, but I see it as more akin to the coinjoin nips than custom feeds. What sort of unique benefits do you see DVMs providing for the social use case?

Hey bitcoin friends, can anyone link me to the website that shows CPI calculated based on 1985's basket of goods?

Coracle has a pwa if that's what you're asking

I don't know the solution for nostr except for relays and image hosts to monitor and remove stuff. Sucks that this is a problem, it's absolutely evil.

It goes way deeper than nostr though. For us, the main thing is that it puts operators in a dicey legal position. This is bad enough, but manageable. But removing CSAM from nostr doesn't solve the root of the problem, which is that it exists — and governments protect and propagate it. I've heard good things about Sound of Freedom. Exposing this stuff is a step towards eradicating it.

Maybe nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m and talk Elon in to giving him twitter.com since he’s no longer using it. The original twitter domain was registered by Jack as twttr.com before twitter.com was purchased. I forget if it was $15,000 or $25,000 for the vowels.

We could then relaunch twitter as a protocol not a platform. :)

Wouldn't that be amazing

Just unsubscribed from Twitter Blue.

Everything nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx keeps telling us about that service is true.

It's deeply disturbing.

Nostr and Bitcoin are our hope people!

Lets gooo

Nostr Talks: nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn on Christianity, Relay commoditization, and Subreddit-like things on Nostr

I got a chance to catch up with Hodlbod, one of the original client developers on Nostr. We started by talking about how he sees his work on Nostr through the lens of Christianity (and his new podcast Thank God For Nostr which goes deeper on that). We also went deeper to discuss how much relay selection should be visible to users and how relay commoditization and competition might work in the future. Finally we did a deep brainstorm around relays and how they could fit into a Subreddit-like/Zine-like thing on Nostr.

Had a great time chatting with you as always!

Do all clients use timestamp windowing when pulling feeds? I'm trying to re-work feeds to work without windowing (since you don't know how dense a given feed is), and lots of relays are giving me really old events. It's really annoying, because if we could assume events came in descending order we could implement much faster feeds. Specifically, I'm seeing this with spore.ws and relay.austric.net.

Happy 800000 everyone
