We have directions specifically for primal - check out: https://docs.megalithic.me/using-rizful/use-primal
Right. No need to run a HTTP server, which is great.
Confirmed! You're set up!
Are you using a self-hosted Alby setup? (i.e., not Alby Cloud)... if so, then high latencies like this could be related to your internet connection, especially if you are behind TOR.
Looks like you are about 1/2 way there. Please start at step #2 here! https://docs.megalithic.me/using-rizful/your-first-steps-with-rizful
Are u planning on building a CLN node into notedeck somehow?
Yes, lots of lightning services can receive sats but aren't set up to generate zap receipts....
Great! You've got it set up correctly and we just zapped you1
Also -- feel free to use an anonymous email service!
I don't want to name names, but there have been a few services recent which have mixed up NWC with user's private keys, and things have gone very bad.
Just about to add this to the home page:
--- Can I login with my Nostr account?
We have carefully designed Rizful for maximum security. At the same time, we have found that too many Nostr users have less-than-great security practices with their private keys. (For example, entering private keys into many websites and apps.) Since real money is involved, we don't allow users to login via Nostr, and we don't ever ask for your private Nostr key. A combination of email/password, plus optional 2-Factor authentication, is the battle-tested and secure way to protect your Rizful account. This also means that, if, in the future, you make a mistake with your Nostr keys, your Rizful account won't be vulnerable.
Great question. We should add that to our FAQ on our homepage, because we definitely have an answer for that one! I'll ping you back once we have added it.
ok, just tested it and it worked!
Looks like you might have set up a different Lightning address.. if you set up a Rizful address let us know so we can do a test zap!
Great! Looks like you are 1/2 way through the process.. can you start at step #2 here .. https://docs.megalithic.me/using-rizful/your-first-steps-with-rizful ... and let us know any questions!
Just checked out https://muschairs.com/ -- if you used the Lightning Network we'd like to help out!
Nice, good work! One more thing, you might want to add your Nostr public key to Rizful, so you can be "nip-05 verified" .... check out the tutorial for your Nostr client here... https://rizful.com/#use-rizful-with
ok! just tried it now and it worked
We did some zap tests on this note… we made six attempts to⚡zap this note, at craig@zap.bitcoin-cats.ca, over a period of about 1 hour. In each case, we found that your lightning address server did not respond correctly. (The failure point was when we did a GET request to your specified callback URL: https://zap.bitcoin-cats.ca/BTC/UILNURL/pay/lnaddress/Craig ). Your server did not produce an invoice, thus the zap failed. The error we got was "Lightning node could not generate invoice: The HTTP status code of the response was not expected (500).". If you wanted to fix this... you could try a free Rizful account -- https://rizful.com ... when u have it set up, pls reply here so we can do this ⚡zap test again.
Happy to help you troubleshoot. The tricky thing is that your Lightning Node could be fully online and working but still something is wrong with the code running at zap.bitcoin-cats.ca .... which makes zaps not work...
Happy to provide details. What do you mean by "the granularity of the NWC aspects"? ... Regarding the testing interval -- we're basically trying to test zaps over a period of time to get better latency measurements. Your latency of 5.4 seconds is not ideal (in our opinion), but it might not be bad enough for you to want to switch services...
Yes, there are definitely sovereignty tradeoffs in Lightning. If you want to run everything on your own hardware, and your hardware is (for example) behind a residential internet connection, and/or TOR, then zaps and other Lightning payments might be slow to confirm -- but maybe you're OK with that.
Regarding marketing and etc. -- the first version of our homepage yielded widespread complaints about "too much information" -- so we moved the detailed info on our node-in-the-cloud service to here: https://rizful.com/node_in_the_cloud ... there are tradeoffs to make we have learned not only in "how should I get my zaps" but "how can we introduce new users to Nostr and zapping without immediately scaring them away with complicated stuff."
Megalith LSP is coming back on online now. If you use Alby Cloud, your node should automatically re-connect. If you are self-hosting Alby, your node **might** automatically re-connect. If you find that the Megalith LSP channel is still offline 30 minutes from now, we recommend you restart Alby Hub and your backing lightning node. Apologies for the downtime.
Hm.... running a "routing node" is a black art and there are no straightforward ways to make it successful...
But i if you want a channel that is guaranteed to stay open, with high payment reliability... we recommend these steps ...
1) Get a channel from Megalith LSP .. https://megalithic.me/get_a_channel
2) Be sure to use the channel at least once per month
3) The channel should NEVER close
You can now (finally!) get a Megalith LSP channel using a simple web form: https://megalithic.me/get_a_channel
