Hi Franny,

the easies way to have bigger ones is to choose the right sort of onions.

But you need to keep in mind that if you do this for homesteadying, you want them to last long. So focusing on storable onions is key. In this case bed prep, care and the weather god is king.

We are testing running onions first time this year. Just to have self maintaining permanent onions.

We love onions too and already harvested a lot this year.

we found a sheperdess that joined our project to clean up the pasture and help us kickstarting life in the ground.

Now the sheep mooved in to make their impact.

I really love to have animals on site.

It is March 2021

Covid stuff is fully going on making our lifes hard. We cannot even gather at our houses in this dystopian place.

But i really want to meet people and celebrate birthday.

So decided to make a small permablitz for my birthday and invite Friends to our property helping me planting trees.

Plan was to insert the first round of upper treelayer to the field with a width of 30m in two rows. This enabled us to see how good treas make it at this place.

We planted in chestnuts and walnuts.

Most fun was to see the Kids helping out digging and mixing sugarwater for the young trees.

But also seeing my friends helping and having fun made me the best birthday i could imagine.

Interesting to see on neighbours land. This is the point where they stopped mining the peat moss. You can see how the land developed since then.

In the past they did the mining on such spots by hand.

We recently bought this piece of land from an old man that did not make any use of it.

At this point we start our journey to create a habitate and garden for the generations to come.
