I finally had my true epiphany moment about sound money (bitcoin duh) and it’s requirement for flourishing society.
I’ve been a maxi since I found the rabbit hole but last night laying there awake drawing all the lines between all the atrocities of the world are truly the result of financial incentives and that incentive can be controlled by who controls the money.
Cultural differences developed over 1000’s of years suddenly are thrust together and expected to interact peacefully is insane, but current dollar dominance forces certain societies to trade with one another in order to obtain dollars to obtain goods they want.
Bitcoin fixes this by transcending the idea of borders - people who require goods will obtain them from whom they want. That’s why the government will fight the ability to adopt it as a currency. They don’t care if you get dollar rich from price appreciation if you can’t spend it abroad. But in a world where people can do financial transactions without the control of a central system the nation state breaks down.
Without nation states we have no reason for large scale war. There will be disagreements over local resources sure - but a neutral money that has zero threat behind it will create the ability of these differing cultures to trade without threat of violence.

Reuters reported earlier this morning that Visa and Mastercard are pausing their respective "crypto pushes" due to fears about the regulatory uncertainty that looms over the industry after the year of epic grift collapses in 2022. Their source for Visa was someone who preferred to remain anonymous, but it seems that they were able to get a Mastercard spokesperson on record to comment on the rumors, which they seemed to confirm. Not only did the Mastercard spokesperson confirm that they have decided to hit the brakes on any foray into "crypto", they rolled out a trope from 2015 that any corporation should be embarrassed to utter in 2023, "We're bullish on the underlying blockchain technology."
