i just this to connections, alliance (their parent org) and the mariposa gazette’s editor in chief, the aclu and POTUS: hello, i’m currently a guest at Connections Emergency Shelter and am a transgender woman. my transgender wife and I were recently married and rather than house us in the remaining two person pallet home, two single men were moved in from the main house. they could be moved back into the main house and we could be put in unit 3 but staff have balked at this solution and my wife remains on the shelter waiting list.
needless to say we feel very discouraged and discriminated against as another married couple is in one of the two person units.
