A new supply chain report says that mass production of iPhone 15 (https://9to5mac.com/guides/iphone-15/) displays has started today, after Apple gave approval to Samsung (https://9to5mac.com/guides/samsung/) Display.

The same report also indicates that producing the periscope lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max (https://9to5mac.com/guides/iphone-15-pro-max/) is proving harder than expected, with yield rates below expectations …

**Apple makes an exception and Twitter is now X in the iOS App Store**

?quality=82&strip=all&w=1600

Elon Musk recently put an end to Larry Bird, which is the name of the iconic bird in Twitter’s logo. Last week, Twitter officially rebranded to X and got a new logo (https://9to5mac.com/2023/07/24/twitter-x-rebrand-elon-musk/). Although the iOS app was updated days later (https://9to5mac.com/2023/07/28/twitter-x-iphone/) to match the new identity, the App Store page still mentioned “Twitter” due to one of Apple’s guidelines. But it seems Apple has now made an exception for Musk, as the App Store page has been updated and Twitter is now X there.

Leading up to the announcement of the iPhone 14 last fall, there were rumors (https://9to5mac.com/2022/09/03/iphone-14-price-increase/) that the iPhone 14 Pro models would be more expensive than their predecessors. In the end, Apple kept prices the same…but now the same rumors are circulating ahead of the iPhone 15 Pro launch later this year.

**Poll: Custom font bug persists in iOS and iPadOS 17 Beta 4 – do you use custom fonts?**

?quality=82&strip=all&w=1600

People always ask me if it’s ok to install the current beta on their main device. Every year I say the same thing, do it at your own risk because there is always a chance of data loss, performance issues, bugs and so much more. The iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 beta programs have been relatively stable but that does not mean it’s been perfect and it doesn’t mean you should run out and install it.

**How the Nothing Phone (2) could give a sneak peek at the iPhone 15 and beyond**

?quality=82&strip=all&w=1600

I have been using the new Nothing Phone (2) for about a week. I put my sim card in it, and I am slowly learning all the nuances that make this phone unique in such a saturated market. We have a video in the works on my experience with the Nothing Phone (2) from an Apple user’s perspective, so get subscribed to our Youtube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChjRM_qQAaOAiLNbOGbYcRA) if you haven’t yet! But one of the main things I noticed using it is just how much more comfortable it is in the hand versus my 13 Pro Max. Apple is, supposedly, making some small design tweaks to the iPhone 15 lineup. So it had me thinking that the Nothing Phone (2) is giving me a nice preview of what the iPhone 15 design will yield.

iPad (https://9to5mac.com/guides/ipad/) owners who had the screen replaced by a third-party service center are reporting that an Apple Pencil (https://9to5mac.com/guides/apple-pencil/) problem occurs afterward – and it appears to be a deliberate move on Apple’s (https://9to5mac.com/guides/aapl/) part.
