**Elon Musk says he ‘will speak with Tim Cook’ about changing App Store commission rules**
.webp?w=1500
Elon Musk hopes to do what no one before him has done: convince Apple CEO Tim Cook to change the cut it takes of in-app transactions via the App Store.
In a post on Twitter today (https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1686828350289887232) touting the benefits of supporting creators, Musk said that he is going to “speak with Tim Cook” about making changes to this policy.

**Are cheaper Apple Pencil alternatives worth it? [Video]**
https://9to5mac.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2023/08/apple-pencils.webp?w=1600
The Apple Pencil 2 is coming up on five years since it was released alongside the redesigned 2018 iPad Pro. It is still the best version of a digital pencil that Apple sells. Since its release, it has remained relatively unchanged. It is physically identical to when it came out, it has received two tiny software updates since iPadOS 13, and Apple still sells it for $119 ($10 less than the original $129 price). This has allowed 3rd party competition to get very good and catch up to the functionality of the Apple Pencil at a fraction of the cost. So that begs the question, are cheaper Apple Pencil alternatives worth it?

Apple today announced that its high-interest savings account for Apple Card has topped over $10 billion in deposits. Early indicators suggested (https://9to5mac.com/2023/05/01/apple-card-savings-account-deposits/) that the savings account was a hit, and today Apple has given us firm official numbers to back that up.
The savings account launched in April, available to all Apple Card customers in the United States, in partnership with Goldman Sachs. The account offers a highly-competitive 4.15% interest rate.
