The transaction fees are already more than what the entire block reward will be in 40 years. Now factor in increased adoption and the value of those rewards in 40 years. There is no security budget problem. Some people are just bad at math.

The American government can print 10,000 sheets of money per hour at each mint. When you equate that money to time, it’s roughly 36 people’s entire life’s work printed per hour. From another perspective, your entire life is worth 1 minute and 40 seconds to the government. You trade your entire life for 1 minute and 40 seconds of their money printing. I present to you the guy who wants to load up your node with useless data and remove the hard 21M limit on Bitcoin. Use his own words to build a representation of his character, of who he really is. How early are we?
Perspective: I joined Bitcoin in 2021. If there were merely 5 million people stacking at the same rate as me, we would have acquired more than all the bitcoin that has and ever will exist. My point, obviously adoption rate is significantly lower than 1-2% (80-160 million people).
America’s largest gold reserve is safely hidden under its soil. Good luck trying to take that. Bitcoin on the other hand is truly scarce and up for grabs to all of America’s enemies. The play is simple. You can always dig up shiny rocks later. This is geopolitics 101.
