like this subject has recurred many times in the last 10 years since the Jew bitch brought it up. if i had my site in those days it would still be up there in its original form without me having to re-type everything every time only to have the timeline push it down into nothingness again.
the difference is the website is curated. i can delete threads, merge threads, edit things for clarity etc. the timeline is dumb - all the noise that goes in it simply pushes the important stuff down. there is no way to clean anything up.
this social media format is good for getting people in touch with each other but useless for expressing complex ideas because as soon as you write up something 10 pages long it gets pushed down by the next post which is going to be a one liner about the need to scratch your balls etc.
it is a very limiting format. if i have anything important to say i write it up on my site and link it here. the closest you would be able to get to that is post in the communities. but communities are poorly implemented nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr in that there really are no moderating tools compared to my site let's say. i can't even delete nostr:npub13wfgha67mdxall3gqp2hlln7tc4s03w4zqhe05v4t7fptpvnsgqs0z4fun from there, who just shows up to say "child rape bad" and goes away ...
anybody else find it odd that a lot of the content in our feeds are images that are perfectly sized for a tablet in portrait mode yet nobody actually uses tablets ...

tablets are a no man's land so to speak - most of us have both a phone and a full blown computer and it doesn't make a lot of sense to also have a tablet ...
i used to have a kindle ... then iPad ... then i got my mom a Samsung tablet just to play with it myself ... but ultimately i can't really see myself using any of these devices enough to justify owning one.
in fact i do have my grandma's Android Tablet that i got her before she died but i don't use it because i only use high-end things and hers is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A, not even a Tab S, let alone Ultra.
jokes aside the difference between Tab A and Tab S is that only the S has the DEX desktop mode. i STRONGLY recommend going for the S unless you're totally broke.
as for the Ultra it's the only one big enough to fit a keyboard with full size keys so if you're going to be getting the keyboard cover go for the Ultra.
anyway my Grandma's Samsung tablet is a big upgrade from a phone when it comes to browsing content, but the problem is i don't use my phone to browse content in the first place. my phone is in my pocket or in the car's glove compartment ( OK actually it's in the cupholder ) connected via bluetooth either to my car's Harman Kardon audio system or my Bose NC700 headset when i'm in the gym.
and when i'm not in the gym or in the car i just use my desktop with a mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse and a big screen Sony TV for a display.
there is simply no use case for a tablet or even a laptop for me ... i WANT those toys just like i want a Mirrorless Camera because they are COOL but try as i might i just can't envision myself actually using them ...
