Hello. I am currently using 2 clients to access my Nostr on iOS, Damus and Primal. However I have an issue with both of them. Firstly on Damus. The zap symbol for individual posts is missing. Any reason why I can’t see it? Secondly on Primal. I am running my own private relay, which I have been able to add to Damus but I am unable to add to Primal. My relay address is an onion address and it starts with ws://…. Primal will not accept it. When I use the wss://….. address it is unreachable. I have tried with Tor active and inactive. Any reason why Primal will not accept the ws://…. address? #asknostr.
You can buy a general purpose "security device", currently a sort of early experiment, IIUC. (See https://tillitis.se/ ) It can load small programs. I'm writing such a program.
I'm not claiming this device is perfect, but it allows for many solutions like this one. (I'm not associated with them. Just playing around with the device.)
I use a Yubikey already for many logins. Something like this would be great.
This #nostr note is posted from a small test application and signed with a key that is internal to the #security device.
Ironically, I have no access to this key, which is deterministically generated within the device, so with the next changes to the firmware-binary I'm going to lose access to this key, .. at least when I use the updated program-binary.
There are multiple modes of operation. nostr:nevent1qqs99ehnglvqm7zjp4jt0g2x803s3sl0cxc5ejlrgps0jxqrlx4d0yspz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsygz2plnksne0pxs73kj6a4q03a044z4ncpunun8eg4ryjl233jpwsvpsgqqqqqqs4lrtxf
You have a device already?
Interested to see how it works out for you.

I am using Damus.
Like spending Bitcoin, it makes you think more carefully about what you post.
First time hearing of #subkeys on #nostr (link below by nostr:npub1melv683fw6n2mvhl5h6dhqd8mqfv3wmxnz4qph83ua4dk4006ezsrt5c24)
Nostriches need the ability to change nsec keys and have "their account" carryover in full. If my nsec is compromised, or I think it might be, I'm out of luck. Currently, nsecs are burner phones. You use it until you feel it might be compromised, then trash it and start over.
I've used Hive (formerly Steem) since 2017 as a blog. It's possible to generate new private keys and everything account-wise carries over. Also, there are actually four keys from least to most secure:
Posting - to post stuff
Memo - send dm
Active - move money
Owner - control everything
Users can chhose which dapp gets which permission/key, or not.
Maybe subkeys could be used similarly on nostr, at least to a degree. I'd especially like to see the ability to migrate to a new nsec if needed. Nostr Wishlist - http://nostrwiki.crrdlx.infinityfreeapp.com/doku.php?id=wiki:nostr-wishlist
I can see a future where we can use an offline device similar to those used as Crypto hardware wallets. Maybe nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m could develop a Bitkey type device for nostr nsec storage.

No.

It is so interesting, if you care about privacy, money, freedom, the future of information, and why they matter.

Read this book recently. Found it fascinating to say the least.
I sleep very well after adding Bitcoin to my Families Treasury.

If someone gains access to your nsec then you will lose your profile. Something needs to be done. It’s still early for Nostr, I hope something is done about it eventually. Hardware wallets for crypto took many years to be developed.
I am able to store my nsec anywhere. The problem I see is that I need to add my nsec to a client to access it. It’s like adding your 12 word seed phrase to a device. It’s connected to the internet so its not 100% safe. Using a cold wallet in crypto allows you to sign transactions without the need to add your seed to an online device.
Adding my nsec to an online device makes it possible for someone to get to it. Very low probability but still a probability. That’s why cold wallets for crypto were made. To keep the seed offline permanently.
Do they currently work with nsec? I use a Yubikey already but don’t know if I can use it to access Nostr Clients.
Using Nostr now is similar to using a crypto hot wallet. You need to enter your private key onto your device to gain full access via a client. When will “cold” accounts be possible? Meaning, having the ability to store your private key offline and using a device similar to a ledger to access a Nostr client.

USDT is issued by Tether. Tether use 15% of profits to buy Bitcoin, supporting Bitcoin. USDC does not do this. I prefer to use USDT for this reason.
I saw you had USDC on your screen shot. I was suggesting to use USDT instead.
