My ā€œloveā€ tree. šŸ¤Ž It keeps on growing.

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow weak,

And pain should keep me from my sleep,

Then you must do what must be done,

For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand;

Don't let your grief then stay your hand.

For this day more than all the rest,

Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years -

What is to come can hold no fears.

You'd not want me to suffer so;

The time has come, so let me go.

Take me where my needs they'll tend

And please stay with me until the end.

Hold me firm and speak to me

Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see

The kindness that you did for me.

Although my tail its last has waved,

From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve - it must be you

Who had this painful thing to do.

We've been so close, we two, these years -

Don't let your heart hold back its tears.

Imagine taking a shower in the middle of nowhere.. 🄰

Lake Rosa (locally known as Lake Retba) is located north of the Senegalese Cape Verde peninsula, in the northeast of the African country. At a distance of 35 km from Dakar. It has an area of 3 km². The adjective pink comes from the color of its waters, which become especially pinkish during the dry season. This is due to an algae called (Dunaliella salina) that makes a red pigment to absorb sunlight. The high level of salinity allows people to float easily, just like in the Dead Sea.

The Puente Nuevo, Ronda, Spain. LOOKING LIKE SOMETHING STRAIGHT OUT of Game of Thrones, the Puente Nuevo spans a narrow chasm that separates two sides of the historic city of Ronda. It was the first attempt at bridging the canyon at this height, and it was no easy feat. The chasm was relatively narrow, but plunged some 390 feet straight down to the GuadalevĆn River below.

The architects Jose Garcia and Juan Camacho were chosen for the project, and they began work on a single arch design in 1735. During the 1936–1939 civil war, which heavily affected Ronda, captured prisoners were allegedly tortured in the chamber. Some, apparently, were thrown from the windows of the chamber, to break upon the rocks of the El Tajo gorge far below.

A scene in Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls, in which Fascist sympathizers are thrown from the cliffs of a fictional village, is believed to have been inspired by events in Ronda.

The world’s biggest flower, Rafflesia arnoldii, West Sumatra, Indonesia.

Indeed the largest flower but also the smelliest! And, to the human nose, not in a good way: its gigantic petals emit a putrid scent like rotting flesh to attract pollinators and prey.

Namibia is Africa's emptiest country per landmass. Despite its large land mass, it has a very low population (2.6 million people).

Namibia is 3.37 times larger than the United Kingdom, 2.5 times bigger than Germany, three times bigger than France, two times bigger than Spain. There are more cows than people in Namibia.

On Sundays, you can drive for an hour without seeing anyone.

Beaches in Namibia most often are empty.

"When we are young, it’s the illusion of perfection

that we fall in love with. As we age, it’s the humanness

that we fall in love with- the poignant stories of

overcoming, the depthful vulnerability of aging, the

struggles that grew us in karmic stature, the way a

soul shaped itself to accommodate its circumstances.

With less energy to hold up our armor, we are revealed

and, in the revealing, we call out to each other’s

hearts....Where we once saw imperfect scars, we now see evidence of a life fully lived."
