It kinda baffles me how many comments I get from people saying Bitcoin isn't suitable for a currency because of its vulnerability to a global EMP attack.

Its pretty ironic... the establishment legacy financial system has been saying for a decade that Bitcoin is "only good for speculation" as a way to dismiss it. Then they create a product that removes all of Bitcoin's truly novel and empowering properties, stripping all advantages away from the user, creating a product that *can only* be used for speculation, but now they're in the middle collecting a fee so it's a great idea and groundbreaking... if that doesn't speak volumes about our financial system I don't know what does.

I can’t believe this person is real.

The true reason I left corporate America to bake baklava & clean toilets for Bitcoin was taxes. I don't talk about this often, but maybe I should.

I felt sick looking at my paycheck and seeing taxes deducted. I was angry about all the endless wars waged by the US gov via fiat currency.

I found happiness in a life earning much less, paying basically no taxes. I could be *much* wealthier today, but it would come at too great an expense.

Anyone else relate to this autistic as fuck way of living?

To be honest, I think the bitcoin ETF is the most boring thing about bitcoin right now. Whenever I get asked about it I'm like, "meh".

Yes, the ETF should be good for price and liquidity, since it gives large pools of walled-garden capital more access to bitcoin exposure.

But in my view, the most important thing about bitcoin right now is all of the little hubs popping up around the world. Bitcoin Beach, Bitcoin Lake, Bitcoin Jungle, Bitcoin Ekasi, Africa Bitcoin Conference, Indonesia Bitcoin Conference, etc. As well wallets and other technologies that help them localize their custody of bitcoin rather than keep it all stashed in the giant Binance honeypot or wherever, and any solutions that help link to them all together for payments or that help them trade peer to peer or onboard from fiat to bitcoin in distributed ways.

The rise and connectivity of those hubs is impressive and is worth supporting.
