Sometimes it doesn't really matter because people don't pay attention... and when they do, they talk shit behind your back... they might just act like you don't exist and copy, mimick, and/or mirror you... which gives you some control.
Good rulif thumb is to assume someone's always listening.
People are going to do what they're going to do at the end of the day, and trust isn't really something that is sustainable in the long term.
Eventually, there's always a backstabbing, misdirection or just out right lies.

Iran gets around US sanctions and has been known to get their hands on spare parts of things, even weapons. The president was in the best helicopter. In the middle because it feels safer.
A helicopter is just a machine... there's always going to be a way to salvage it, even if eventually it has no original parts left.
