Well, I went to a #Dubai coffee shop today that DID accept #bitcoin⦠but no #lightning. Happy to support them, but did use fiat. Will try another one tomorrow.
Met with some amazing venture capital partners and clients out here.
Hope I can find a coffee shop in Dubai that will be able to give me a receipt denominated in Satoshi, accept lightning, and allow me to try to submit the receipt in China for reimbursement š¤juvenile or dreamer, doesnāt matter to me.
Heading to Dubai for the week on a work trip. Any place worth visiting? Anyone accept bitcoin?
Yup! Thatās how I got my start⦠and I still claim itās the reason Iāve survived this long ā paper wallets for the win.
I wish they would make a new version that supported a native segwit wallet. I think that may help some avoid higher fees, if I understand correctly?
Sparrow v1.8.2 released with:
Improved transaction tree
Quicker transaction tab loading
Reduced rescans on Bitcoin Core
Effective fee rate for CPFP
And more: https://github.com/sparrowwallet/sparrow/releases/tag/1.8.2
I just tried sparrow for the first time and Iām in awe.
Luckily Iām not locked. Unluckily, I work in a country with no retirement plan offered at work. I either make my own retirement or I guess life is going to be more challenging.
I hold my own Bitcoin, but itās the principal of the matter than my broker is censoring what I am allowed to purchase. I wonāt support their views. I continue to own equities because I believe in the equity - not because my broker agrees with me.
Time to move all assets out of Vanguard. Fidelity seems like a reasonable alternative but open to hear ideas. Liquidating everything to #bitcoin⦠not quite there yet.
They ought to just suspend their twitter privileges. Disgraceful.
Thank you, SEC, for the last chance to buy Bitcoin under $45k š
Good to be back in #HK
Glad I bought the dip #bitcoin
Good luck - it will happen⦠eventually :/
Yes, a few haha. Slowly showing people why Bitcoin is different. Still most are quite skeptical
As more bank employees ask me āwhat token should I buyā my answer has and will continue to be: Bitcoin. They still see what I buy as a speculative investment. For me, itās just exiting fiat.
Who gave you permission to quit?! nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s
Seriously, could I subscribe to a premium version? For example, Iād like to fund a theoretical āfind friendsā feature where I can associate a GPS location and date time to my profile, and enable/disable if people can find me nearby. This could enable many new theoretical (and profitableā¦) client ideas around web3 dating, social networking, or more. Iād be open to advertising too for non-premium versions. nostr:note1l2s7wyqg5xz7ke6t20p03t9awk629utr6wxjjmg7k4cqr0eflrdql5p5ke
Iād like to use cointracking.info tax software to see all the derived public addresses of my CLN node. I have used this to find my xpub:
lightning-hsmtool dumponchaindescriptors ~/.lightning/bitcoin/hsm_secret
However, I see it is using a ām/0/0/*ā derivative path when most wallet software expects ām/*ā I believe?
Is there a way to convert my hsm_secret into a corresponding xpub (and ypub and zpub ) that is a more āstandardā m/* derivative path? Eager to learn more.
Iāve been doing so, but I lack a stack of invite codes. I promise to use them wisely for the right people⦠would love to have a handful.
Tineye.com but perhaps there is a better one now?
