I had an issue with zapping in Damus, the icon didn't show under the notes. I activated the script at https://zap.army/ and restarted the app and now it's fine!

Revisited: City by Clifford Simak - 2015.07.25

« Clifford/Cliff Simak is an author I first came to when I was a teenager in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. At first I wasn’t sure about it – it wasn’t spaceships and action, but instead a much more subtle and gentle SF. (Mark Charan Newton has since referred to it as ‘rural SF’, which sorta works.) Instead of Star Wars bang-whizz action, we have pastoral introspection, Waltons-style homily and self-depreciating humour.

And in City in particular we have robots, ants and dogs. »

Ici, ON BOYCOTTE AMAZON

Amazon has ceased its operations in Quebec, closing seven sites, including one fulfillment center, two sorting centers, three delivery stations, and one AMXL (extra-large) delivery station co-located with a sorting center.

The decision was announced on January 22, 2025, following the unionization of 200 employees last spring at Amazon’s DXT4 warehouse in Laval, Quebec.

In total, 1,700 regular employees and 250 temporary seasonal workers were laid off. Additionally, delivery drivers and truck operators will also lose their jobs.

Confédération des syndicats nationaux (CSN) President Caroline Senneville condemned the announcement as “outrageous,” accusing Amazon of being “anti-union.” She stated: “My message to Amazon is always the same—if our money here in Canada is good enough for you, then our labour laws should be enough for you too.”

Last October, Amazon lost its legal challenge against the workers’ unionization efforts at the province’s labour tribunal.

In response, the union has called for a boycott of Amazon.

This is the first music album that I bought. My mother made me pay dearly. I was so surprised! Welcome in French Quebec 1970’s culture.

I bought the disk when I was young. (I'd like also to share about Dylan's Blood on the Tracks. It will come).

The first rock song that I heard when I went to my new found (life) friend in Quebec city. All this was new in his living room: disks from his elder brother and sister.

Capitaine Nô is a reference to me. If you look for his songs, you may find interesting stuff.

At the time, challenging the established order was dominant. Long live the non-neoliberal Left!

You will crush us but one day someone will crush you and nobody will regret you.

This album best exemplifies my view on climate change denial (look at the picture!)
