Art major turned law professor. Teaching at Chicago-Kent College of Law. Researching & writing about #DesignPatents. Currently thinking a lot about the #ScheduleA phenomenon. Trying to make #PatentFedi happen. Coauthor of Patent Law: An Open-Access Casebook https://patentlawcasebook.com/ When I'm not thinking about law, I'm usually studying languages (#español, #français & #svenska), reading novels, or watching Netflix. People keep trying to give me homework assignments this summer.

I'm an academic.

I'm the only one who gets to give me homework assignments.

Yes, it does surprise me because I worked there.

This methodology is highly suspect.

Hey fellow #LawProfs: One of my goals for the new school year is to do more noninstrumental reading--i.e., reading more articles that aren't relevant (or directly relevant) to my current research projects.

What articles would you recommend? They don't have to be "classic" or broadly "important" but they should be good. Any area of law is fine.

And feel free to suggest your own work.

No lists, no way to filter what you see (between a follow-don't-follow-binary), unless you have the "coding expertise" to build a custom feed (which I think is then public anyway?). Plus no shadow blocking, which isn't a huge deal now but may grow in importance as they open up more.

nostr:npub1ev7r9hjxfvcy6p5fr852zp8j7uak5w2pa90qn28yxsp7g99jq34s83wsd0 I guess, at least for the time being, we're just all going to have to choose which pluses and minuses matter most to us. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Uh oh, looks like the USPTO's new "welcome letter" is already out of date.

Time for "America's Innovation Agency" to catch up with the times. 😊

"I am not ready for it to be August," she cries, already one-third through the month

I am so tired, y'all.

If you see me posting about something (especially when it's in my area of substantive expertise) and your first instinct is "that's NBD, maybe stop to consider that you might be the one missing something.

It's amazing how many lawyers on social media assume that I, a former litigator and Civ Pro professor, must have no idea how federal litigation works.
