Can you have a trustless second layer when the first layer also isn’t trustless?

I have a Citizen Eco-Drive I bought for about £130 nearly 10 years ago.

It has never needed a battery, no winding, never lost or gained time, suffered all kinds of mechanical mishaps with no real damage, been on countless air flights with consequent pressure changes,  and it's still on my arm as I type. All I've done is replace the strap for an everlasting stainless-steel chain-mail type for about £30, which is equally durable.

The solar powered Eco-Drive system is phenomenal and faultless, still going strong, and has paid for the original cost of the watch in batteries never bought. It is, without question, the best watch I have ever owned in 57 years. I depend on it, I trust it, and I love it. It has the spirit of Bitcoin and have high hopes it will see me out.

Find a dingy, non-descript alley in a suspiciously quiet corner of Bangkok’s Chinatown. Walk down it. Pass a small prayer shrine and approach an old wooden door. You were told that there is a bar here, yet nothing suggests that this is so…

Wait! Closer inspection reveals a simple bronze plaque, out of place for its polish and newness, “cocktails 3rd floor.” Up the stairs then! The landing on 3 presents a white sign with the Chinese character for bitter, ku/苦, and a red arrow pointing right.

Pass through the threshold, enter a new space. To your right, a large expanse of barren concrete, an empty “room.” Tripods for…some kind of filming? A man-sized, locked container. Yet, you did not come here to ask questions, such things are none of your business!

And to your left, you find the golden door. Approach. Enter. Be greeted. You have done well! You have found it. 苦 Bar. You are among friends now. Inside exudes weirdness - in the etymological sense - the bending of destinies, control of the fates. For the patrons, a quiet and sacred space.

But, Taste! Taste is the order of the day! Bizarre, Obscure, Arcane - you find a most unique use of flavors, flavors beyond name. Buddha’s hand, burnt cedar charcoal, ylang ylang, strawberry, wild roots brought in by friendly travelers, and many other things. But, Taste! The drinks here are not so much to be liked or disliked, but rather, experienced without judgment.

In the inner room, you may find another set of stairs, down this time, leading to the second place - KANGKAO. A natural wine bar. Cozy, botanical, industrial, enclosed. The kind of private setting where you might overhear “State Department” and “UN” types chatting with their Chinese counterparts. But don’t look or listen too hard! Surely, there’s no reason to be rude… Remember, you are among friends now.

苦 Bar. Bangkok. There are secrets to be found. Go there.

I think people are just uploading to sites like nostr.build and then dropping links in the zap note. Are some wallets rendering these automatically?

It's not a question of IF conspiracies exists, the question is how many exist and what are their aims. To think that it's impossible for a group of people to conspire and find success is very foolish. There is no doubt that the governments around the world conspire to validate the existence of the state. In fact, they go through extreme measures to do this. So, there's one.

It's so telling that bitcoiners and shitcoiners are cut from a completely different cloth.

Bitcoiners care about freedom, integrity and separating money from state.

Shitcoiners care only to get in early, pump their bags and dump for fiat to get a lambo.

The fact the vast majority of shitcoiners are absent from Nostr reinforces the view that they are just larping about decentralisation and freedom. "Where's the token?" Most of them belive that mediocre fintech is somehow magically revolutionary technology, because it has the name "decentralised" and "blockchain" in it.

And when shit hits the fan they want guard rails and regulation to save them from their own inability to take personal responsibility.

Can't wait for natural selection to filter out all of these nonsensical beliefs and behaviors.

I test Robosats today! very nice to use and the interface is clear and avatar look familiar like these in nostr🤙 but i was a bit surpise by not able to expand my order more than 24hour.. and about the deposit 3hour look like i need to rush into it to check it.. so how do you use this when you dont want to check day by day?🧐
