Because an eco-fascist would outright say they believe people must be murdered to protect the environment, whereas this person would like you to believe that it will happen "voluntarily" or only to bad people. The tragic thing is that even a purely voluntary way out would end up an overt attack on the poor and sick.

I do think you're pointing out something important, and worth understanding.
You're definitely right that much of the media landscape (mainstream and alternative alike) casts issues as people-vs-government. Sadly, in addition to what governments did, many ordinary people also proactively chose to participate in segregating people from society, terminating their employment, and cutting out family members.
As awful as those things were, they can't merely be blamed on the establishment as comforting as that would be. This is why the mass formation psychosis theory got a lot of play, because it allowed people to excuse the personal betrayal from many of their friends and family.
My point is that you've hit the nail on the head that people are separated and there is an outright non-communication taking place that itself causes many problems.
Why is it in place?
What should people do about it?
We may not be able to fix everything, but never for a moment believe you can't make a difference.

As a Canadian I don't have the perspective to know if their plan is viable or effective, but I'm in favor of people trying to creatively find peaceful solutions to our many present day ills.
