🎧 Latest pod is out. I talk with Sovereign Origin ( nostr:npub15tkakfjtkcmg4aaa2hatapj2gsjslr587nvga8q8t49nhc5x32qq3fnhq4 ) about his concept FITS (Financially Independent, Time Sovereign) a new alternative to the traditional FIRE movement (Financially Independent, Retire Early).
While both approaches aim to escape the “rat race,” FITS redefines the pursuit of financial independence through the lens of Bitcoin, focusing on sovereignty over one’s time with a unique perspective towards wealth, work, and life.
We had a great talk about the FITS concept, exploring some of the technical aspects, as well as some of the challenges inherent in the traditional FIRE approach which is built on the premise of the ongoing growth of the stock market and ultimately is not truely independent because the state can always come and turn off or confiscate your retirement fund – Something they can’t do with Bitcoin.

The site Svoboda linked is mine, spreading the good gospel of this idea. Hope you can get something out of it. If you're interested, I also have a simulator to figure out how you can use bitcoin to become sovereign over your time?

Hey there, great question!
Well for a Ponzi scheme there should be somebody promising returns for an investment, take your money, then distribute that to everyone who is waiting for their returns.
When you buy bitcoin, the exchange usually just gives you bitcoin but doesn't promise you anything, nor is your fiat money then distributed to other bitcoin holders.
Holders with skin in the game may claim it will go up, but have no control over that beyond not selling theirs. And they aren't paying anyone either.
If you would sell for fiat again at a gain in fiat terms, you just made a profit comparable to any other investments in stocks, gold, whatever.
BONUS: If you're in bitcoin long enough you'll start to see that bitcoin is, in fact, the actual money you needed all along to the point that the price stops being very important... think about that one.
