Honestly can't stand tips at counters/cashiers where I just order or get my stuff and leave. I get gratuity when you receive a service that exceed your expectations but when you just get what you're paying for then the employee's remuneration is between them and the employer imo

Musk is the king of over promising and under delivering while convincing masses that what he is doing is revolutionary vital to our species. Still can't wrap my head around it

Recently took a chance at making some extra money on a small business venture for just a few months

Made some money in local currency terms, lost millions of sats in bitcoin terms, so the venture failed in my opinion

Should have just converted the fiat to sats like I usually do and I would have been way better off but wasn't strong enough to resist the "opportunity" brought forward by a family member

Learned my lesson (again). Focus on my craft and save in sats

Most "opportunities" are only there because we are forced to find ways to preserve our hard earned purchasing power and being on a bitcoin standard makes them obsolete

People are so scared of the volatility of bitcoin because their time preference has been so screwed up by fiat. They can't bear the thought of having their pirchasing power go down sharply for a short period of time because they might want to spend that money anyway a month or so after converting it to bitcoin imo

Early morning 10km walk with some family doggos

This was the halfway mark

What's the biggest zap ever zapped on #nostr ?

I need to retire to learn the in and outs of what people are discussing on nostr

Context, we didn't speak about "coins", just bitcoin, but I guess most people don't know the difference

Got my first normie message this year lol

Not the kind of inquiry I was hoping for, but whatever

Wonder why people include musk in bitcoin memes? He bought some at one point and paper handed at the bottom isn't it?

Haha indeed! The promises are usually huge and the results not so impressive

For home mining I think it might be a good idea to switch normal heaters to miners that generate the heat for your house? I've seen people talk about it and it seems like you use more or less the same energy to generate about the same heat but mine some btc in the process? But haven't read into it that much yet

I have a client that had a similar deal done on their farm. The supplier built a solar plant on the farm for free and the client pays for the electricity generated by the plant only (some is used and some is pushed into the ESKOM grid for credits)

After 20 years, ownership of the plant transfers to the client at no cost

The rate that the client paid for electricity was very low compared to the normal ESKOM rates and it worked great for the client, but the company that supplied it went bankrupt and I think it's largely due to having high capital expenditures building the solar plants with low monthly cashflows coming in

It's quite revealing about the current economic and educational system when you realize that you gained more knowledge about finance and economics from learning about bitcoin in one year than you did in decades in financial education and degrees and all that shit. At least that was the case with me personally
