The failure of Bitcoin is probably not by Bitcoin itself but rather by the community

I like Bitcoin, the idea of an internet money by the people for the people, but Bitcoin failed, the original idea was to transact P2P without third party, not to be a ponzi scheme of HODL get rich... Bitcoin is not and will never be a digital or better version of Gold, Bitcoin is an electronic tool over internet, if electricity or internet crash, Bitcoin is off. In the conception of electronic cash, Monero is far better because it's fungible and doing a transaction don't disclose all your wallet
