Ergo ($ERG) Now Listed on MEXC Exchange!
We are excited to announce that as of today, April 29, 2024 at 10:30 UTC, the Ergo ($ERG) coin has been listed on the MEXC exchange!
This listing was made possible thanks to the incredible efforts of the Ergo community. The Sigmanauts organized an Ergo Raffle that raised over 28,000 $ERG from generous contributions by Ergonauts. The Ergo Foundation then provided the required market-making fund to secure this MEXC listing.
For those unfamiliar, MEXC is a rapidly growing top exchange, ranking 11th on CoinMarketCap. It offers fiat support for 15 currencies and lists more coins than the top 10 exchanges combined. The extended Unspent Transaction Output (eUTXO) model combines the simplicity of UTXOs for accounting with the flexibility to include arbitrary smart contract logic attached to the UTXOs.
This offers major benefits like guaranteed transaction success. On eUTXO chains like Ergo, transactions are validated based on inputs & instructions before submission, ensuring they will be confirmed successfully.
eUTXO transactions also have known costs determined upfront, unlike account models like Ethereum where costs are estimates and transactions can fail if gas runs out mid-execution.
The discrete nature of eUTXOs also allows for more predictable and safe smart contract execution compared to account models which can have more vulnerabilities.
While account models aim for an easy bank account experience, the eUTXO approach provides robust security by tracing all coins back to their creation before they can be spent.
In summary, eUTXOs offer simplicity, security, guaranteed execution, predictable costs & improved smart contract safety - solving major challenges in blockchain.
