i love clothes, shoes, handbags. etc. alas - i live in the mountains in a small town. so i keep a robust "travel closet". as in: an excuse to buy it because "when i travel, that will be sensational".

one reaches the stage in one's journey of never wearing hats when one more slouchy straw sensation is just the ticket for a pleasant afternoon and you chuckle when you still tell yourself this hat will be the one which will indeed correct you not wearing hats - because this one has a matching straw beach bag. i think they look great on top of the racks. much like katharine hepburn, i find hanging clothes tedious and i cannot be bothered. i purchase a giant square ottoman, and i stack jeans and sweaters on it, and i hang gowns and coats and fluff on the racks. consider it a sophisticated adaptation of the clothes chair, which has always been a staple in every bedroom i have had.
