Nice little guide on hosting a #Matrix server on a #RaspberryPi - of course applicable to any system. 😎

nostr:npub1fsj6yh3jaatuh79s8w5txvddq8eafqg0lp8rar69uvg5k2gx56ps6sre05 That's an idea. As I've installed Matrix on a FreeBSD Jail, I could write something about it...

Boh.

I'm still undecided. Holding both the iPhone and the Galaxy S23 Ultra, I can't determine which one I prefer. The iPhone feels smoother, while the Samsung is more customizable. I can't tell if it's just habit or if there's something else at play...

Friends of #BSDCafe and the #Fediverse, today I drove for hours in terrible weather, but I managed to upgrade three #Proxmox servers from version 6 to 8. Tomorrow, I'll set up two new #FreeBSD servers, and on one, I'll run some tests with #cbsd for VM management. Right now, I'm so exhausted, I dream only of hitting the bed (after an episode of #TheOffice, of course). By the way, the place I visited today felt like The Office set, with some people eerily resembling its characters. The only catch? There was a Creed-like figure too!

Friends of #BSDCafe and the #Fediverse, today is going to be a very long day, with hours of driving in bad weather and a series of updates on various #Proxmox servers. I'll also be adding a couple of physical #FreeBSD servers to the setup, which I'm sure will be appreciated, so I'm feeling very positive. Here we go!

Just another episode of #TheOffice, and then off to bed.
Today, I conducted more experiments with SeaweedFS and rclone. I've discovered some interesting uses that I plan to delve into in the coming days. Tiered storage can be beneficial for certain organizations with specific needs. Testing will be necessary.
Officially, mounting on #FreeBSD should work, but in practice, it claims not to be supported. Tomorrow, I'll reach out to the developer, who is usually very kind and helpful.

nostr:npub1t7dmr2xue8zaxsxhy2xkdja0nx6f8cu8y8l7hfksw98y773djkgquzpqpp Ok, is there a guide you followed or just common sense and Linux/firewall knowledge?
nostr:npub1p2atql30s3lsa77tgdqxdautllss0y9tw7tlkwnupc5mle0ez6xsy6gtqc No guide, I've created it following my experience. I'm writing a post for my blog about it, but it's been delayed for months as I haven't enough time to complete it 😞
nostr:npub1t7dmr2xue8zaxsxhy2xkdja0nx6f8cu8y8l7hfksw98y773djkgquzpqpp Interesting setup however far beyond my current knowledge on BSD. I primarily use OPNSense running on BSD. Easy of use for sure, but this approach seems more flexible
nostr:npub1p2atql30s3lsa77tgdqxdautllss0y9tw7tlkwnupc5mle0ez6xsy6gtqc OPNSense is a very good solution. Here, I wanted to have a lightweight and totally flexible solution, without any gui.
