@MammaSmurf42 @zachsilberberg If you raised your kids so badly that they are unable to think clearly at 17 years of age, you are a terrible parent.
@MammaSmurf42 @zachsilberberg 17 year olds are adults. They work dangerous jobs. They drive cars. We pay them to babysit real kids. We let them join the army for fuck's sake. The have sex. They fall in love. They start families of their own. They are adults in *every* respect.

@mgd4161 @zachsilberberg When I was 17 my boyfriend was 23 and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.

@StefaniaTweets @zachsilberberg Age gap relationships like that have been fairly common for thousands of years. Did you expect them to all suddenly stop in 1980 or something?

@InternetWes @sarahcorean @zachsilberberg Pedophilia is a serious problem. Why don't you take 20 seconds and find out what the word really means?

@IckyVickyEww @GibranStormcrow @MatthewSpeak @Not_Meis @brazen_unicorn @zachsilberberg Have you ever wondered why "creepy" isn't a crime?
Should we make it a crime? Should people get 5 or 10 years in maximum security for being creepy?

@MatthewSpeak @Not_Meis @brazen_unicorn @zachsilberberg It was my impression that everyone wants to see Seinfeld beheaded for what he did.

@thedesertloner @arx1022 @tide Thanks.
That's exactly what I was looking for.
In the 1970s it was totally normal for a tall young man, 16 years old, maybe bearded, to get into night clubs and bars simply because he "looked older"
Neo-puritans are desperate to draw some kind of line between teenagers and adults, but they have nothing to work with.
4)
What about on the beach? In a bathing suit? Could a 23 year old pass for 17 and vice versa?
The fact is that teenagers 16 and up look exactly like adult because they ARE adults. Puberty ended their childhood a few years prior.
3)
but cashiers at supermarkets are told that they have to ask for the ID of anyone who looks 25 or younger.
Why? If minors are children it should be totally obvious at first glance. Wait, you mean that in the checkout line at Kroger's a 16 year old might pass for 26?
2)
You can tell a child from an adult at first glance, right?
Here you see one child and two adults in the foreground. No confusion.

@arx1022 @tide I've been searching for a source of reliable info on how many tide pod victims were actually hospitalized and what states or countries they were located in. Do you have any?

@GibranStormcrow @RoseTho87057065 @joeygllghr The statement "16 year olds are not children." is just common sense.
Official sources are great but I'm assuming that the people who will choose to write nonsense at me have eyes and ears and live somewhere near 16 year olds. Also they have been 16 year olds themselves.
@GibranStormcrow @RoseTho87057065 @joeygllghr I don't need official sources to prove that grass is green either.

@GibranStormcrow @RoseTho87057065 @joeygllghr Some of my threads were 20 or 30 tweets long. That's not concise. Most people won't even start to read something that long.
Some of the most effective tweets in Twitter history have been just a few words.
