@leethepockybean LOL
Idiots trying to infantilize young adults causing the very problems they pretend that they're trying to fix.

@leethepockybean There are 5 women in those photos.
One is 16. One is 17. One is 27.
If you have Amazon Prime, or Hulu you can watch the episode yourself.
@leethepockybean or this bad quality copy on YouTube

@leethepockybean Infantilizing them causes stress.
They are in adult bodies, but society keeps forcing them to pretend to be children. It's depressing AF.
and the whole thing was explained over 100 years ago, but nobody listened.

@leethepockybean Sorry to laugh, but the women on the top right are the same women as the women on the top left. The top left picture has one more woman, but the other three are the same individuals but in different swimsuits and from behind.

@leethepockybean and there's plenty of individual variation. but on the whole throughout history and in every corner of the globe there has never been a problem with welcoming young adults aged 14-16 into the adult world with all the rights and responsibilities of all other adults.

@leethepockybean because society treats them like shit. at least here in the US.

@leethepockybean a lot depends on the society that raised them. if they were constantly demeaned and infantilized then they are much more likely to act out with risky behavior than if they are treated with respect.

@leethepockybean Which of these women is 16 and which is 27?
@leethepockybean 16 year olds can handle plenty of responsibility. There is zero problem allowing them to choose for themselves if, when, and with whom to have intimate relations.

@leethepockybean If 16 year olds were children we would put them in day care centers when were are at work.
We don't. They are young adults.

@leethepockybean Stupid laws.
That has nothing to do with what a reasonable age of consent should be.
@leethepockybean If the law said that you become an adult on your 25th birthday would all 24 year olds suddenly become children?

@leethepockybean Our society isn't set up to support that.
Historically it was totally normal.
@leethepockybean Where I grew up we hired 16 year olds to ensure the health and safety of children. (babysitting)
We didn't hire nannies to take care of our 16 year olds. Because they are young adults. They can handle plenty of responsibility. and they have no trouble understanding sex.
