I have to admit that since my last post I figured out how to customize my feed in Primal.
and when I posted an incorrect link I was (apparently) able to quickly and effectively delete it in Satellite.
So maybe there is hope for Nostr after all.

Content moderation is like knives. A lot of people are murdered by knives every year. If your brother was killed with a knife you might have very strong anti-knife feelings.

Knives are much more often used for good than for evil. They are extremely useful for food preparation, and opening packages, for example.
I've had at least a dozen Twitter accounts suspended. Just yesterday I had a Lemmy account deleted. People try to murder my message with knives all the time. But the knife (content moderation) is not to blame. Social media platforms must delete malicious accounts. Otherwise they become unusable. My message is quite controversial. A lot of people don't want their false narratives scrutinized, or their goofy myths challenged in any way. They will use knives (content moderation) to try to stop me. That's ok. That's normal civic discussion.
Panic over age-gap relationships causes a lot of harm and benefits no one.

I've lived in countries where the age of consent is 15 and 16, and the number of teens dating people twice their age is very small even there.
Maybe we should discuss our society's frequent Hypothetical Moral Panics.
In the 80s I talked to a trad who was adamantly opposed to legalizing prostitution. He was sure that such a change would dramatically increase the number of men paying for it. (we have lots of data proving that false)

There was a similar panic about the end of all marriages if we let the queers have weddings.
Now peeps are terrified that the State isn't doing enough to police the bodies of young women who might decide to make love to an "age-inappropriate" partner.
It's a simple matter of fact that most 15 year olds don't have sex anyway, and sex being legal or not isn't the deciding factor for them.
A change in the law, quite likely, wouldn't change anyone's behavior at all.
There would be a psychological boost tho'
Lowering the age of consent would send a positive message of "Hey, they treat me with a bit of respect"

Primal is the only client that lets me upload pics and properly displays my content. But it doesn't let me delete anything. Nor does it give me any control over my feed. So... posting good..... consuming content worse than useless.
Satellite lets me delete, but can't upload anything properly and I have no idea what it's trying to show me, but also worse than useless in terms of giving me a feed of stuff I want to see.
Iris will make a nice feed for me but pics don't work, and no delete button...
I have already spent FAR MORE time fiddling around with Nostr clients than any normal user will, and I'm nowhere near satisfied.
99.9999% of users will abandon Nostr after 30 seconds (right now Primal is not letting me type what I want. It's forcing me to use a fucked up emoji I don't want)
Overall Nostr is a giant pile of problems
