Currently US culture segregates teens from 20-somethings. Two groups living isolated from each other develop distinct cultures. So in 2022 in the US it seems odd that they would mix, meet, get to know each other, and fall in love sometimes.

Teenagers work full time jobs. Teenagers serve in the military. Teenagers provide child care to working mothers. Teenagers go to college. Teenagers do tons of charity work. Teenagers do everything that laws allow them to and they do it well.

the fact that millions of young adults aged 14-18 have birth certificates does not in any way force our society to treat them like shit. you're off on a weird red herring.
I can give you copious examples of "WE" and "The Gov't We Created" specifically targeting teens for nasty treatment in Florida, Chicago, New Jersey, Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, etc etc etc
or tons of examples of under 18s and under 25s getting treated like dirt on the internet, which is geographically universal.
