But this is the version my father passed onto me. I call it the Haitian version.
I was beat up after school one day. I was in the second grade.
The school called my pops and he came to pick me up.
We got in the car and he scolded me...how do you expect to protect your mom and sisters if you can't protect yourself?!
"He was bigger then me." I responded.
That's no excuse.
"He had his friends with him." Thinking maybe that would serve as justification.
Pops exhales and puts the car back into park.
He goes onto to explain how all men have a monster and capable of summoning their monster. The captain of the chess club has a monster, the priest has a monster, the feeble beggar curbside in front of the convenient store has a monster. I have a monster.
Men who purport to be victims are men whom never learned to meet their monster. At the time, I was pissed, frustrated and was cursing him (in my mind of course).
Him and his silly Haitian mambo jumbo I thought quietly, about monsters.
Years later at the ripe age of 17, I witnessed my father's monster. Even now, I shrink at the thought of it as I write this note. It was then that conversation clicked and made sense to me.
Bare with me, there is a point.
I discovered my monster not to long after that. As a young man, he manifested easily and often. But as I've gotten older I've learned it was best he stay in the closet.
History is riddled with atrocities and violence conducted by men who did not know when to retire their monster and when to let it loose.
Men make up many bad, some of the worst statics in human history, because of their monster.
I've been coming to this place for 3 years now. While My family worries about me coming out here periodically to get out of the city. I've never had to summon my monster in this place.
Folks focus on the pooch. But unfortunately, she's a decoy. Her presence gives me the time I may need to summon my monster should I have the need.
So for the next few days, I look forward to hanging with Walking Man and my pooch.
I don't expect I'll have any need of my monster.
I can't say that when I'm in the city.
I have no son to pass this story to. So I post it here. Perhaps for my descendents to find if I am no longer around to share it as my father did with me.

Passing the picnic area, an older man was putting up decorations... A banner strung across the area, anchored to two tree limbs, the banner read "it's a boy".
I stopped and inquired...."a son or grandson" (knowing likely it would be a grandson due to his age but I did not want to be disrespectful).
The man replies...."it's my first grand". I congratulated him.
Brief as it were, we shared a moment.
Moments likes this have been rare for Running Man. When you live in the left lane doing 200mph, you can't have those moments. The wind (noise) drowns out the signal.

Good morning NOSTR fam!
I hope this note finds you and those that matter to you well.
The pooch and I just finished this mornings 5k. I may need to change my moniker from Running Man to Hiking Man.
We did not run a single step of today's miles. This was intentional. Instead we don'ed the hiking shoes instead of the running shoes.
We averaged 20 minutes per mile, about 8-9 minutes slower then our usual pace.
Because we were not in a rush to start the day, we greeted fellow hikers as we passed them.
The pooch is a bit a voyeur, so when she wanted to stop and watch, I did not rush her.
We are in a good place this morning. While I still have commitments to the fiat factory until mid June, I've decided this is the day to begin structuring my days in a manner that will excite and inspire me.
(Side note, as I type this note I'm watching the pooch get frustrated as she tries to retrieve a piece of her breakfast from beneath the counter. Funny, but maybe she'll learn to protect her food better. She moves around to much when eating. She's now barking at me like dude....go get that for me. Haha.
I digress.
Yes, so it's occured to me that my morning 5k's were the result of busy days and my attempts to stay ahead of the system.
I no longer need to stay ahead of the system. I can be productive and do the things that I enjoy and that excite me.
Well it's a beautiful day in the #keystonestate. I'm off to do some chores then later will be tinkering with my nodes, relays and lightning.

Today is going to be a little busier then I like for a friday. But thats OK. The day will end with a 2 hour drive to ma maison de repose (for a few days). Or as my family likes to call it..."that trailer by the woods".
To which I then reply "whatevs....you say tomato, I say tomato". It's all subjective. Your castle is what you want it to be.
Off to have my morning #5k with the pooch.

An app that businesses can access and use to find a meme that resonates with their brand in the above mentioned meme repository. (I don't think this exist yet.
Business will be charged for access to this meme Google app because a 5 second frame of a meme is less expensive then a 30 second video ad in old media ...think cable and or program networks. A disruption to the status quo with respect to ad sales and ad revenue.
Memeist would need to be skilled in how to most effectively tag their creations. A properly tuned AI model can help with or even automate this.

What troubles my heart the most about the (banking) "crisis of the day" is this narrative....
"Let me be clear, we are not bailing out the bank investors, we are bailing out the bank depositors". ~ my president
It's a divisive narrative that can turn neighbors/family against one another.
My neighbors/family go to bed at the end of the day thininking "Good, @ least they're not bailing out the bankers this time"
But here @ NOSTR and in the broader BTC community...we've all seen that meme...
gov raises property tax,
landlord raises rent,
then tennant complains about the subsequent/inevitable rent increases.
This is why I/we bitcoin (the verb).
Let's not be divisive. When the time is right for our neighbors to understand this....they will.
In the mean time I will be there to lend an ear or a hug when they ask for or need one.

This has been the soundtrack to most of my week (still more to go). I thought I've read this (high school or college i couldnt remember). But in actuality, I think I cheated and just read cliff notes to write a book report...so my older cousin tells me. He did the same. Haha.
