Of course, it just seems like it could be a good alternative to “global but only on paid relays”, so that you can see what other people are posting but with the “curation” that comes from them being x degrees of friends away from someone you follow.
Couldn't we improve the spam situation on global by allowing users to set global to only show posts by users that are ___ degrees of separation away? In other words, "set global to only show posts from friends of friends" ie 2 degrees of separation or "set global to only show posts from accounts up to 3 degrees of separation" ie friends of friends of friends.
As long as your friends' friends aren't following spammers for some reason, this should clean up the global feed quite a bit, no? #[0]

Twitter technically does have its own version of the "spammy firehose global feed". If you search for any general and popular with spammers term like "bitcoin", then set it to "latest", enjoy: https://twitter.com/search?q=bitcoin&src=typed_query&f=live
I'm curious why no nostr clients (native or web) support username/password detection by browsers or password managers like bitwarden.
In other words, why is it that when I log in to a client or "sign up" and generate a new npub+private key, my browser and/or bitwarden extension don't ask to save the credentials?
This could go a long way towards making key management more convenient and secure.

This was just half of the caravan of probably 10 fire trucks leaving the 4 alarm fire at Brockton Hospital outside of Boston
My favorite nostr discover tab right here:
Yeah having an api for an indexer service thats connected to all relays will make it much more efficient for things like that and 'relay auto pilot'
Wait what is this?
i’m on 50 relays and it’s working pretty well! granted i avoid most of the big/overloaded relays while still making sure i have coverage of those i follow
Hmm that’s weird, i rarely ever have to stop/start it. What scenarios do you see that?
Just checked my 10 day battery stats, and it only made up 1% of the usage over that span.
I’ve been using it for over a year for my many self-hosted projects, and it’s not bad on battery at all.
Looking forward to seeing “__ years of experience with Nostr protocol” on resumes 😁
Pretty impressive!
