If you “get hardly any spam”, you’ve never visited the global feed.

Just out of curiosity, when do you think it’s appropriate to support something then?

I’ll give you two reasons on the top of my head:

1. It’s one way of trying to fight spam. Although not always perfect, it costs more to fight spam on paid relays which equates to less spam.

2. Support relay operators. Nothing is free in this world and bigger relays are expensive to run.

tbh, who needs to change their email 4 times an hour? They could have easily done 1 time a day or something. The rest seems reasonable tbh 🤷‍♂️

You need a Bitcoin Lightning wallet of some kind. On desktops you can e.g. install Alby (https://getalby.com/). Follow the setup and you’ll get a lightning address which looks just like an email address. Then you can receieve satoshis to that address. More about the lightning address here: https://lightningaddress.com/.

On nostr, many clients let you add this lightning address to your profile which makes it easy for strangers in cyberspace to tip you satoshis. Idk what nostr client you use but e.g. on Damus, you can go to your profile and click the “edit” button. There will be a field with the title “Lightning address” or something, this is where you put your lightning address.
