Former tech journalist of 20+ years - still dealing with that trauma in therapy, here now for the shitposts and wry observations on life, mostly NSFW. Definitely not for minors, of interest to miners, or relevant to mynahs either.

With AMC's "Dark Winds" S2 now in full swing I'm catching up on S1 and it is *really* good. No surprise - AMC can't make a bad cop drama.

I don’t normally do more than word streaming, so never tried it under Rosetta. Be interested in your experiences.

BTW, the best place to get info on the Neo is a Flickr discussion group (I know, weird choice, but it’s been going for nearly 20 years so…). It’s pretty sporadic nowadays but you will get knowledgeable responses. https://www.flickr.com/groups/39436080@N00/discuss/

This has been in heavy rotation in my brain's soundtrack since the first time I heard it when I was 10.

Hits like a mantra at this point.

“Foundation” vs “Dune”

Isaac Asimov: we’re headed for some bleak imperialist nonsense but humanity’s salvation will come from using math we haven’t discovered yet

Frank Herbert: we’re headed for some bleak imperialist nonsense but humanity’s salvation will come from tripping on drugs we haven’t discovered yet

Have been introduced to okonomi sauce, which I like. But I can't remember the name. So far I have called it:

- okeedokee sauce

- ummy-yummy sauce

- justpassthesauce

I have two - still one of my favourite vintage machines. It is virtually perfect for its intended purpose.

Haven't tried tethering it to a host computer yet to try the USB text file transfer feature, which will be my next step. And if that works, I'll see about updating the firmware; the sync/update software is still available for download from various online sources…
