Remember: freedom of internet access and internet privacy are rights, and rights are not given, they are taken!
Recently I found the motivation I needed for a crash course in internet anonymity. Here’s what I’ve learned so far (don’t use it for anything that it’s illegal in your country 😉):
1- Use TOR browser. Your ISP has no way of knowing what websites you visit nor what data you consume / produce. Plus, your route goes to different places, so it kind of acts like a VPN (remember, don’t use it to access anything that is illegal in your country).
2- Don’t authenticate with your phone (does anyone know about a web-based disposable phone number for authentication?).
3- This is obvious: don’t log in into any account on any website that could be traced back to you. Start new, fresh accounts.
4- To start a new fresh account on most websites you’ll need an email address. Use https://tuamaeaquelaursa.com for a quick disposable email address (there are plenty other options) or Proton Mail if you want something more durable.
5- If you want to go next level anonymous, use Tail Linux booting from a pendrive. This OS doesn’t write to your local disk drive, and all data sent and received from the web goes through the TOR network.
6- nostr:npub1dd9znw7585wsam4d8p84ztdmtywwjsrayld6fzk4fvqdn5hpju4st5xe7p is a VPN service that hides what you do on the internet even from themselves. Unfortunately still not available for usage, only for testers. Check out their discord server for more info.
7- If you want to go full tin foil hat on it, don’t use your own computer and ISP. Instead buy a cheap notebook, run Tail Linux on a pendrive and use public WiFis.
If you know more about internet anonymity please share!!
