The real reason I’m here, coffee. This photo was taken just before harvest 2024 when the coffee cherries are a deep red colour, perfectly ripe. Full of sugar and sweet to the tongue, they grow in clumps along thin branches which hang under their weight.

The harvest season spans a few months as the fruit in different areas of the farm reach maturity at different times. It is even common to find ripe cherries and green unripe ones on the same branch, so a plant might be harvested many times during one season.
