I want to use the opportunity here on nostr to show a little side gig I have been working on with some great dutch bitcoiners. They needed posters for their regular meetups and I wanted to get better at making them. I am grateful for the opportunity and connections I’m making with people in the bitcoin community, although I didn’t study Graphic design in school, I still like it. These are only 4 of 6 posters I need to make. If anyone needs something like this done for an event/meetup or such, please contact me. I really enjoy doing this on the side. My regular job is nothing like this and I feel a strong need to counteract the negarives of that job with something creative. #art #bitcoin #posterart

I would like to use nostr as an art archive. This year I found some oil paintings on canvas wrapped together in a huge roll with tape around it. Some of my father’s paintings from 1986-88. I had never seen them before and want now to keep them in digital form (I had to brush up a few of them digitally first, since my dad didn’t really store his paintings properly).. Guðmundur Thoroddsen was his name. He was born on the 17.09.1952 and he died in on the 25.05.1996 at 44. Some of his works are quite mythical, something I’m trying to understand better. Let me know if you would like to see more of his works and I will try my best to add to this archive.

Most people who I know that think the CIA invented bitcoin, are not very familiar with the pre-history of Bitcoin including work by Back, Szabo, Finney, etc.

I'm not saying that certainly no intelligence agency created Bitcoin, but rather, I'm very skeptical of the certainty that many people have around that topic.

Because, when you are somewhat familiar with that pre-history and look at it from an engineering perspective, you can clearly see the pieces gradually falling into place. In the1980s there was work by Chaum about how to build a database run by mutually suspicious entities. In the 1990s there was work by Back for proof-of-work. As things moved into the 2000s, there was Szabo's Bit Gold, which is very similar to what Bitcoin ended up being, and Finney's Reusable Proof of Work "RPOW" tokens. Finney hadn't solved the centralization issue, and Szabo hadn't solved the issue of better computation causing supply inflation over time, but they were collectively within shooting range of the solution. Others as well. Meanwhile global bandwidth was getting better, encryption in general was getting better (and there we've got an actual intelligence agency contribution), etc.

And then Satoshi added to that work, including the difficulty adjustment in particular and many other details, with a full implementation.

Basically, if someone thinks that Bitcoin just kind of magically came out of nowhere, then it's pretty easy to see how they'd be inclined toward a conspiratorial assumption.

However, if one sees that, just like any other industry, there was a series of engineers building on each others' work until someone finally got it over the line, then it looks a lot more organic.

Aðalega vegna þess að það eru ekki eins mikið um þessa algorithma sem matar mann af allskonar efni sem maður gæti haft gaman af (eða ekki) hér inn á Nostr.

X t.d. sendir inná Feedið mans pósta frá aðilum sem maður hefur líkað við þó það sé ekki endilega nýlegt (síðustu klst eða svo).

En hér á Nostr verður maður helst að vera að fletta í gegnum tímalínuna þegar atburðurinn hefur verið að gerast, eða að einhver sem maður er að fylgja reposti þeim atburi um það leiti og meður er að skruna niður tímalínunna 🙂

Þar sem enn eru fáir virkir íslenskir Nostrarar þá er hætta á að maður missi af íslensku póstunnum. En manni þykir alltaf jafn vænt um að sjá íslenskt ritað mál.

En fyrir þína erlendu fylgjendur þá er líka að komið inn Translation fyrir þá sem nota #DamusPurple (IOS) sem þýðir yfir á Ensku.
