it is postgres sql in a mode where you have 2 copies of the database and only after a change has been written to both it will return "done". This is necessary for lightning nodes since any old state is invalid and can lead to force closes or even loss of btc. This way you have pretty good protection against power outages, hardware defects etc., but you need a second machine with a different location and low ping.
Are you using postgres with synchronous replication now like a good pleb?
