Whoever invented computer fonts that can't easily distinguish between I and 1, l and I, 0 and O, did a great deal for swearing at computers and will have to practice speaking an amalgamation of Icelandic letter accents, obscure Chinese tone intonation and Khoisan in hell, and get a spike up the bottom from some satanic minions every time they get it slightly wrong.
I want to improve my game at this but I haven't had time to practice.

I prefer Windows 11's default approach to tiling to Gnome 46's approach to tiling. I'm aware it's fixed in Gnome with extensions like gTiles and extensions are lightweight/flexible, but it's not a default.
OpenBSD for the people (although has serious battery trade-offs on laptops because of the way the kernel works/less developed power saving - not a criticism because OpenBSD is still great at what it does/a secure default)*

* If a person wants new(ish)/interesting Linux approaches to play with: OpenSuse Aeon. Or easy FreeBSD: Midnight BSD. I'm still primarily on the i3 Manjaro version, so I'm not quite putting my money where my mouth is on the distro front although I may transition to OpenSuse Aeon or some other immutable distribution in the future because constantly shifting dependencies aren't tidy, and if everything is going Wayland I should get used to it (albeit with Sway).

1992 Amiga demo coded in C/assembler with video capture. Fits on a 880kb floppy disk. This is a contemporary of Windows 3.1.
Viva Amiga - a pretty good documentary about the Amiga computer, which was so far head of everything* in the mid to late 1980s and a basic look at what went wrong (Amazon Video but no doubt available elsewhere):
* Not quite - the British Archimedes computer had the first ARM chip and was way ahead of everyone in 1987 and the Atari ST was way better for MIDI with less mucking about. But, that and other counter examples (Apple caught up an exceeded by the late 1980s) aside the Commodore Amiga was notable for being relatively affordable and highly capable. It's worth knowing about for how something can be right but ruined by bad business decisions.
