Netanyahu’s office releases a statement as the ceasefire agreement technically ends:
“Israel adopts the outline of the envoy of the President of the United States, Steve Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire for the period of Ramadan and Passover.
On the first day of the plan, half of the living and dead abductees will be released, and at the end - if an agreement is reached on a permanent ceasefire - the rest of the living and dead abductees will be released.
Witkoff proposed the outline for extending the ceasefire after he got the impression that at this stage there was no possibility of bridging the positions of the parties to end the war, and that more time was needed for talks on a permanent ceasefire.”
Giorgia Meloni is working to restore a connection between Europe (I said Europe, not the European Union) and the U.S. At the moment, she appears to be the most clear-headed European leader. However, she may face resistance within her own governing coalition from Matteo Salvini, who could eventually break away and lead Italy to early elections.

“If anyone is ‘playing World War 3,’ it’s Putin.
He brought 10,000 North Korean soldiers to Europe. He begged for Iranian drones, aiding their nuclear program in return—to wage war in Europe”

Israel claims that the “extremist Islamic regime in Syria” is targeting the Druze ethnic and religious group; with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said to have instructed the Israel Defense Force (IDF) to “prepare to defend” the Druze-majority city of Jaramana on the outskirts of Damascus.

Sky News reports that the Baltic states are "very unhappy" after the UK failed to invite their leaders to join tomorrow's summit on Ukraine.
The source, a European diplomat with knowledge of the situation, warned that Moscow would notice with interest that Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have been excluded.
"Russia and our publics will clearly assess this that we are sold out by the US, but also by the UK and France," said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Starmer will host the leaders of more than a dozen European countries, including Zelensky, for a summit in the UK on Sunday to discuss Russia's war in Ukraine and wider European security.
The diplomatic source confirmed Sir Keir would have a phone call with the leaders of the Baltic states - but signalled this was a poor substitute for not participating in the summit, which will take place in person.
"We are truly very unhappy with a refusal to invite the Baltic leaders," the source said.
Macron recently held a European emergency summit on Ukraine in Paris and also didn't invite any of the Baltic States to the meeting.

Macron yesterday called upon Europe to "rediscover taste for risk, ambition, and power" and reject dependence on the U.S.
Speaking during his two-day visit to Portugal, Macron said that Europe must be "more united and stronger than ever" and take decisive steps in "technological, industrial and defense matters."
"I see a lot of people in Europe saying, 'we'll have to be nice to the Americans, it'll pass, we have to bend our backs,'" Macron said in comments quoted by BFM TV.
But "submission is not an answer," the French president added, warning Europe against entering into a "happy vassalage" nostr:note1le6t3re5zfy6qethtkc6sjmjp9dmyvnqhhmkpevzahy6mg4eez6s4murj8

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte:
"You have to find a way, dear Volodymyr, to restore your relations with Trump”

"Yesterday was a disaster for American national security. What we saw was the President and the Vice President emotionally committed to defending Russia. Trump has divorced himself from the fundamentals of American foreign policy. Trump is giving Putin everything he wants."

Karoline Leavitt, Donald Trump’s spokesperson, stated that the U.S. will no longer supply weapons to Ukraine because, according to her, Trump wants “peace.”
There are no details yet on the extent of this measure, and its full impact remains unclear. However, if it includes all weapons, ammunition, and spare parts, then today, Trump effectively handed Putin what he couldn’t achieve on the battlefield by himself.
“Restricting access to a major social media platform in this manner for several weeks (referring to the restriction of X in Brazil in 2024) is unprecedented among democratic nations.
The censorship of a group of users went beyond what could be considered reasonable restrictions on free speech, especially in the middle of an electoral campaign. Criminalizing certain speech based on vague definitions is an example of the politicization of the judiciary,” states a passage from the report that led to Brazil’s six-position drop in The Economist’s Democracy Index ranking.
