Chancellor Wang Yi stated, “The people of Latin America want to build their own future, not be subordinate to anyone. What they seek is independence, not ideologies of control.”

In Rylsk, located in Russia’s Kursk region, a drone strike took place. The impact was followed by visible flames and the sound of an explosion. Authorities have not yet confirmed what exactly caught fire.

Yesterday, Zelensky invited the U.S. President to visit Ukraine. However, today the White House announced that Trump does not plan to travel to Ukraine.

According to i24NEWS, the United States has notified Israel of plans to start a phased withdrawal of its military forces from Syria within the next two months.

The White House spokesperson said that President Trump believes Russia is genuinely interested in ending the war. After all, Putin has publicly stated the same—surely, he wouldn’t be dishonest about that.

In response to recent remarks by White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and the reaction that followed, both the White House and State Department held consecutive press briefings reaffirming President Donald J. Trump’s position: a complete halt to Iran’s nuclear program. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce confirmed that a second round of negotiations between U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi is scheduled for Saturday in Rome, Italy. While both U.S. officials expressed continued openness to dialogue, they firmly reiterated the U.S. demand for an end to all Iranian uranium enrichment and the dismantling of the broader nuclear program.

The Iranian dictator, Ayatollah Khamenei, stated that talks with the U.S. have been satisfactory so far, but warned they could ultimately prove pointless. Meanwhile, Trump declared that if negotiations stall, he may order strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities to prevent Tehran from developing a bomb.

Despite a court order issued last week by U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden—prohibiting the Trump Administration from barring Associated Press (AP) journalists from the Oval Office on First Amendment grounds—the White House blocked both an AP reporter and photojournalist from attending a press conference held there yesterday.

Following President Trump’s remarks yesterday expressing support for the idea, the White House confirmed today that it is “exploring” the legal framework for potentially deporting not only undocumented immigrants, but also American citizens charged with certain crimes to El Salvador’s infamous CECOT maximum-security mega-prison and other facilities in the country.

113 years ago today, the Titanic sank with 2,224 people on board — at least 1,514 did not survive the tragedy.

I’ve studied the Titanic extensively and never found any official confirmation that the phrase “Not even God can sink the Titanic” was ever actually said.

In any case, the ship that was meant to be a symbol of human capability now rests at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

Footage showing daytime and nighttime air ops from the decks of the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) and the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75), both deployed to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) area-of-responsibility, as they carry out airstrikes against the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist group in Western Yemen.

White House Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff has now walked back his comments last night on Fox News that described a conceptual Iran proposal eerily reminiscent of the failed Obama-era JCPOA (Iran Deal) framework. About an hour ago, Ambassador Witkoff returned to the Trump administration’s previous sentiments on the process, saying that “Iran must stop and eliminate its nuclear enrichment and weaponization program.”

Russia Reportedly Seeks to Base Strategic Bombers in Indonesia

Reports have emerged that Russia has approached Indonesia with a request to station long-range strategic bombers on its territory. According to Janes, citing unnamed Indonesian officials familiar with the matter, Russian representatives made the proposal in February 2025. While Australian officials say no final decision has been made, the move—if approved—would place Russian strike capabilities, and potentially Chinese assets as well, within striking distance of key U.S. and allied military installations in the region.

Why It Matters

Though concerning for both U.S. and regional policymakers, this development isn’t entirely unexpected. Indonesia sits near a critical maritime chokepoint and lies in close proximity to Australia—a country that has recently strengthened its military ties with the United States, drawing objections from both Russia and China.

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Sino-Russian military cooperation has grown dramatically. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Western Pacific, where Russia has expanded and modernized its long-underfunded Pacific Fleet. As their strategic alignment deepens, joint Sino-Russian operations in the Indo-Pacific have become increasingly common, signaling a coordinated posture that challenges Western influence in the region.

According to The Guardian, the U.S. is expected to propose the transfer of much of Iran’s highly-enriched uranium to a third-party country, such as Russia, as part of the nuclear talks this upcoming weekend in Rome. The issue of Iran’s stockpile of near weapons-grade uranium is seen as a major issue in regards to a further nuclear deal, with it being discussed during last Saturday’s negotiations in Oman, though Iran has and is expected to continue to resist any proposal that would see the removal of its enriched uranium.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is reporting that it detected and tracked several Russian military aircraft operating inside the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) yesterday, April 14th. The aircraft remained in international airspace and did not enter American or Canadian sovereign airspace, with them being monitored until they exited the ADIZ.

According to the Saudi-based Gulf Research Center and multiple Arab media outlets, the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)—the internationally recognized government backed by the United States, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf nations—is preparing an unprecedented military offensive to seize the strategic port city of Hodeidah from Houthi control. Reports indicate that the PLC is mobilizing as many as 80,000 troops for the operation, which would mark the largest campaign of the ongoing Yemeni Civil War.

Since 2017, the PLC and its allied forces—including the Southern Transitional Council and the Yemeni National Resistance—have steadily expanded their military strength and territorial influence. Capturing Hodeidah would represent a major turning point, as it would effectively isolate the Iranian-backed Houthis in western Yemen and pave the way for a potential future assault on the capital, Sana’a, which has been under Houthi control since 2014.

While the specific involvement of the United States and Gulf allies remains unclear, emerging reports suggest that the U.S. Air Force is already supporting the Yemeni military through intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) operations over Houthi-held areas. Additionally, recent drone and airstrikes targeting Houthi positions appear to be “shaping operations” intended to soften defenses ahead of a broader offensive.

In response to the recent unanimous ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court calling for the release and return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a Salvadorian illegal immigrant who was “mistakenly” accused of being a member of MS-13 and deported by the Trump Administration to the notorious CECOT maximum-security mega-prison in El Salvador. The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele stated earlier from the Oval Office following his meeting this morning with U.S. President Trump, “The question is preposterous. How can I smuggle a terrorist into the United States? I don't have the power to return him to the United States.”

Speaking earlier from the Oval Office, U.S. President Trump once again attempts blame Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for somehow causing the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with him stating, “He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20x your size and then hope that people give you some missiles.”

In a post this morning on Truth Social from U.S. President Donald J. Trump, he claims that if the 2020 Presidential Election wasn’t “RIGGED” the Russian invasion of Ukraine would not have happened, despite it starting in 2014; while also once again blaming Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for allowing the war to begin. Roughly 24 hours ago, Russia launched a ballistic missile attack against Sumy in Northeastern Ukraine, killing 34 civilians and injuring over 119.

In the past day, the Israeli Air Force carried out precision-airstrikes against over 35 terrorist targets across the Gaza Strip, with the targets including a Houthi weapons manufacturing site in Central Gaza and a rocket-launch site preparing to fire against Southern Israel.
