- decide what content to show you based on a secret algorithm
- control who can participate

If one aims to be self sovereign, then bypassing the arbitrary deplatforming and centralized server hubs of privacy-eroding social media companies is a must.
The innovation that led to the development of this open-source, censorship-resistant, and decentralized protocol may play a significant role in enabling the masses to do just that.
I'm grateful to those who made this tool a reality. Issues remain that need to be ironed out, of course, but unlike how the current incumbents of the web 2.0 paradigm operate, we know each and every solution will be implemented transparently.
It truly is a blessing in this day and age to be able to utilize a neutral technology to participate in a positive-sum network. Learning how to optimally leverage Nostr for that purpose is a challenge I'm excited to undertake.
